Let go-part 5

She had just one roll that was more than enough.  He on the other hand had large appetite. He had 12 rolls irrespective of his size and forced Jasmine to have some more. But she refused. “ You are a poor eater. Do you ever think about yourself? I mean you hardly have fun  and…. You are absolute control freak!”, he said.

“ It’s time for me to leave.” she said , ignoring him. “ You get offended so soon.” he joked again.  She couldn’t control her temper this time. Her tolerance level was minimal now. “ And you are so non serious about life and everything. You are so…arrghhh!!” she snapped. “ Why should I be? Life is short! You need to enjoy every moment like it is your first and last one.”, he said.

The words struck Jasmine heart, pinching her more every inch. “How dare he calls me a loner?”,she thought. He doesn’t know anything about her life. Enjoy! Because of that her mother left her at the doorstep. She hated words like fun, happiness and enjoyment. They were always short lived and attracted disappointments. Sad and grief were her true friends.

“ Which world are you in , madam? “  he said, bringing her back to reality. “ I will drop you. Your place is on the way.”, he said. “No, I cant take any more favours from you. By the way, I bought my bike.” , she murmured.

He stared at her hard as he saw her left from his sight. He shook his head in disappointment. He missed having her keep her hand on his shoulder while sitting in bike. He would miss her innocent soft eyes that he saw secretly in the side mirrors. She did have an influence on him like no other girl could have. He had purposely asked boss to cancel the presentation in order to be with her. He had also kept her till midnight to just have alone time with her. But he didn’t understand her cold and indifferent behaviour. She was indeed unique from all girls. He had seen the pain in her eyes. He wanted to disclose the reasons for that pain and take it away.

She was a bit relieved about getting away from him. She waited for tomorrow badly as it marked the end of week and beginning of weekend away from him . Everything was fine. But it did remain like this forever for her. The engines of her bike failed and she stopped in middle of the road. To her dismay, there were no people to help her. She stood helplessly thinking what to do now. In back of her mind, she scolded herself for not taking the lift.
