Love and heartbreaks - Part 14

He wanted to say those words to her. Bad luck!  His plans… all that hard work went into waste. He hadn’t noticed that his legs were aching due to constant practice. He kneeled down in despair. “ Wait a minute! What did she say? I was going to be her dance partner. Cool!”, he said aloud. He jumped with euphoria. All the prospect of getting her back brightened.

She ended the class soon. As she walked out, she saw him waiting for her. She placed her hand on her head due to anger. What does he want now?  She walked towards him. “ What is it?”, she asked sternly. He fell back for words. He didn’t know what to say though he wanted to know why she selected him when she knew that he was a beginner. “ Well….Well…”, he replied, searching words badly.

He looked at her. Her eyes stared back at him. “ How can those warm chocolate eyes seem so lost and cold?”, he wondered, admiring her eyes. She gave him a ‘ Are you done’ look. He nodded his head like as if he knew her expressions. “ I… I wanted.. to ,, know when is our practice or when is the competition?”, he stammered.  She thought for some time and told him the details of the competition as well as the practice timings.

He took six days off from office to focus on the show. Fortunately his manager was happy to give him a week off though he sulked inside for losing his precious employee ( Mohit) for six days. They practiced every day for ten hours from morning seven to four in the evening. The closeness was developing between them. But Molly didn’t quite open up though she would laugh at his silly jokes or pull his leg by calling him various funny names. He wouldn’t mind. At least he made her smile in the end of the day.

The D-Day was fast approaching in another 12 hours. He was developing weak knee for only reason that he wouldn’t get chance to be so close to her as he was for past 6 days. He had to tell her before he loses her. And he would tell her soon within these 12 hours. Love is simple but it becomes difficult to communicate it to one we love.

It was last day of practice. They had worked it out well. They had done the dress rehearsal. Everything was running smoothly. It was time to leave when he knelt down close to her. He took her hands in his and proposed her, “ I am not sure what you are going through. I don’t want to know if you are not willing to share. But I will promise that I will never break your heart or let your smile vanish from your face. Your happiness matters to me. If you are not ready to accept my love, I won’t hold any grudge against you. I will wait ..wait forever.”. Her face colour changed and her heart was beating faster. She ran away as fast as she could. She stopped only after her legs pained to stop.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 13

He had never focused his energy into anything in life. In other words he wasn’t serious about his life. Rjing happened instantly. He happened to audition for show that was hunting young and vibrant people like him for the role of RJ. Lady luck smiled at him and he landed the job before he could finish his college. He never had to work hard for anything. He got it instantly- girls, money and everything he desired.

Now he had to work hard for the girl he loves . This was the first time he found so difficult to impress. He had to literally run behind her to get her notice him. She was always in her own world. She had no time to look at him. He hoped she would look at him one day. Fortunately her birthday was coming. He had planned to make it big. He had practiced a routine with the help of Ali. He had bought a huge card and box of chocolates for her. He had learnt from Ali that chocolates was her weakness.

She was in mess. Everything had turned upside down. Life didn’t seem fine as it should be. Her love wasn’t there with her. Her passion was tearing her up. Her personal relationship was getting worse. Nothing was going on right path. A week was left and she had no partner for the dance competition. She had everything ready except for partner. She badly missed Randy’s presence. If he was there, then nothing would have gone wrong. She wanted to leave everything and go.

It was the usual Saturday afternoon. It could have been special one as it was her birthday. For the first time in twenty five years of her life, she didn't feel like to celebrate her birthday. How would she have good time when life was miserable and Randy was not around? Anyway, she was taking auditions of her students. They were good but didn’t fit in her expectation of the partner.

She was busy auditioning people. Suddenly Ali called her to talk to her on urgent issue. She sent her students for break and walked slowly to the room where Ali summoned her. The room was quite big and dark. She tried to switch on the light. But it didn't work. After few attempt, she left it as it was. She called Ali’s name. He didn’t reply and all of sudden a spotlight appeared on a person standing at the center. She walked closer to see better. When she could see who it was, she was surprised as well as annoyed to see Mohit. What was he doing here? He could have called her instead of using Ali as the bait. How could Ali accept to be used as a bait to call her? She was about to leave. Music started and she turned to see him dance.

It was song from Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl -Aadat Se Majboor. “ Ah! Typical chauvinist song!”, she thought. She wanted to leave but his moves were quite good that it made her stay a bit longer. His steps were mostly bollywood freestyle. There was a miss of one or two beats. But he danced well which was above  his standard. His extensions were not too large but it was according to the beats. He ended the dance with perfect poise. Before he could compose himself and say anything, she passed her judgement like any judge of a dance show, “ You were perfect! Your dancing was raw. But we can work on that. You are selected as my partner for my competition.”  He was awestruck by her response. His mouth was wide open.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 12

She began torturing him with tough steps she knew he would think twice to try them. She made him to jive to the tunes of  Miley Cyrus - Wrecked Ball.  It was a tough song for a beginner like him to start. But he didn’t complain as usual. He tried his very best to copy her extentions and moves. Unfortunately he would fail at every attempt.

He never liked dance. The only time he danced was when he was intoxicated by large pegs of beer. Later he would be thrown out of club because of his unpleasing dancing skill. He had tried many occasions to learn dance during his school days. Alas! He would check out of the class because he couldn’t follow any steps his teacher thought. Now he had no options but to follow the difficult path of dancing. He knew he was worse at it. But he never tried to give up. He only wanted to spend some time with her. She was too addictive. Her challenges of making his life miserable would add fire into his urge of meeting her every weekend.

He wouldn’t stop bothering her even during weekdays. He would start his day with ‘ good morning’ messages and end his day with ‘ good night’. He would also ask her about her day and well being. But she would always give monotonous replies to his messages. Sometimes he wouldn’t get any reply from her. There were times when she would be rude. He would call her for lunch treats and she would decline his offer without thinking.

Love was poisonous venom which induced him to not to give up. He would try hard to impress her with gifts and smooth talking. Nothing moved her heart. He tried to be himself- jovial and funny , just to make her smile. But she would smile for one minute and later she would be her cold self. Why was she like that? The time he ever laid his eyes on her, he only saw her lost in thoughts.

What were those thoughts? Was it love? Did she get her heart broken before and now she didn’t want to give another chance to love? What was the reason that made her so distanced to him and even people close to her. He wished he could do something to get closer to her and keep her happy. But how? He was dead scared to share his true feelings for her.

It was one of normal day. Ali had called him randomly. As he heard Ali self boasting himself ( half of which he pretended to hear), something in Ali’s conversation brightened his interests. The topic was Molly’s birthday which was approaching after two days. “ Perfect!”, he thought. It was best time to surprise her with his true feelings. But will she accept him was another question which he feared to even think about.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 11

She was angry. Why was she angry at him? She had no answer for this question. It was a joke. Why didn’t it seem like a joke to her?  She would always take things light. She was never serious. Love does change a person so drastically that he/ she can’t even recognise themselves. If she knew this simply fact, she wouldn’t have fallen in love.

“ Can you give me few minutes for me to freshen up?”, she said sternly, trying to control her anger. He noticed that she was getting crossed at him. He smiled , nodding ‘yes’ to her. She stomped out of the room for fresh air. She needed that. She was getting suffocated by emotions and now Mohit. Why did she react to him like that?  He was being friendly to her. What’s wrong if he came an hour early or joked about her asking him stupid question?

Maybe she expected it to be coming out from someone else. Randy!! She wished that he came back. She wished that he would pursue the same way like Mohit did. Mohit wasn’t bad or anything. She had already given her heart to Randy. She couldn’t love anyone so intensely the way she loved Randy. She felt guilty and confused. She didn’t know how to make Mohit understand that she was already taken.

One hour passed and she came back to see him eagerly waiting for her like Mary’s lamb. She sighed and continued to teach him warm ups. She was getting bored teaching him those exercise.  Initially he would find it difficult in following  her. Later he slowly caught up with her. Now it was becoming difficult for her to find hard steps for him to follow. “ Molly, I had question for you, if you don;t mind.”, he asked like innocent child.

She asked him to proceed. “ Why.. Why are you teaching me warm ups when I don’t need them. I mean I am not that thin or fat that I need to be taught these steps.”, he said, sounding hilarious. However she didn’t find it amusing and replied, “ It’s true that you are not thin or fat. But you are not flexible. You are too rigid and firm. You need to loosen up.” “ Flexible! It has been two months that you have been teaching me these excercise and I have proved my ability of being flexible.”, he argued. She was losing her patience again. No wonder how Ali was teaching him dance. Mohit had no patience.

“ Well! I need to be satisfied. You are not ready for the proper dance routine.”, she said dryly.  “ Huh!  I am full on ready, Molly. Atleast try to teach some few steps!  I can learn.”, he said , sounding desperate. “ Fine! I will teach you dance. You win! Happy!”, she snapped. He smiled like a kid who had won a chocolate argument with his mum. While she stomped towards the music system to play the song, her mind took control of her heart. She started planning about how to make him miserable.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 10

The weeks were longer and saturdays- sunday would be opposite- shorter. He wished he could extend those two hours he was spending with her. But those two hours seemed like slipping from his hand. She would come late most of the times and would complete the session on time.. not a minute longer. He was aware that she did that on purpose.

She always seemed to be hurry. He didn’t understand why? He felt that she was trying to keep him in distance. What was the reason that she was so cold towards him. It was like she was sending him a message that she wasn’t comfortable being with him. Everytime she tried to break him, challenged him to be nearer to him.

She had been teaching him warm up session for a month. Every class, she would come up with some tough exercise. He would do it without any complain. Everyone close to her could understand that she was being really tough with him. One fine day, “ Don’t you think you are punishing him too hard for silly mistake of his. Who wouldn’t have rejected that request by mistake? It’s really mean of you to do that! He seriously likes you and you can see it. Please give him a chance!”, Ellie, Molly’s best friend, said.

She knew she was too harsh to him though it made her happy to hurt him always. It was saturday again, one of her dreadful days of the week. She was dancing to the tunes of one of Amir Daib’s song. She didn’t understand the lyrics of the song, She simply felt the soulful music turn her body. It was mix of belly dancing and freestyle. Her hip swayed slowly to the beats. She was oblivious to the surrounding as well as Mohit standing there.

She moved like a snake to the rhythms of the songs. She ended the dance with one of classic posture. When she was done, she raised her eyes to see him smiling at her. He looked amazed at her. It was obvious that he hadn’t seen her dance so well except for few glimpses of teaching her students. But this was one of masterpiece! He was truly awed by her talent. “ You are amazing! Did anyone tell you that?  Why don’t you try mainstream dancing? I mean there are many dance competitions. You can try one ! You could easily win the contest with such a golden talent.”, he said.

She blushed initially by his words. Later she went back to her cold self. “ How come you are early by an hour? Your class starts by five and it is four.”, she snapped, embarrassed that he had to see her dance. She hated anyone seeing her practice her performance. She felt it jinxed her chances in competition  though she had been losing the competition to the best dancer- Archana. “ Huh! People scold you if you are not punctual. But I have never seen anyone criticizing people for coming early.”, he joked at her cold behaviour. She was losing temper now. She crossed her arms. trying to calm herself.

Love and heartbreaks - part 9

Only two hours were left. He couldn't control his impatience to meet her. He waited for her at her institute three hours from the stipulated time. Ali noticed this and walked upto him.

"Hey bro! You were doing fine with me. What went wrong?", Ali said in his usual shrill voice. His voice unfortunately made him look much younger and immature. He was a late bloomer. But nothing mattered to him except his passion for dance and making new friends. And he had thought Mohit was his friend.

Like every friends, Mohit didn't care to tell him that he liked Molly. Why would he share such intimate feelings with Ali?  Ali had known him for a month. "Sorry Ali! It's not about you or dance. It's something more...",Mohit said.

By then Molly appeared from nowhere. " Hey !! Ready? Follow me.", she said without looking at him and greeted Ali with her usual 'hi'. Why did she behave so indifferent with him? She greeted Ali but not him. Girls and their attitude! You can't understand their mood swings.

She started with warm ups from simple ones to complicated ones. He did as she told. He followed all the excerises without listening to pains of his body. He didn't complain even for single minute. Her presence was drug to all of his pains. He didn't understand why he felt happy in his own sufferings?

He came back home with swore body. He just had lay on the bed. Sleep was automatic - sweet and enchanting bless to his body. He didn't get up until morning when his stomach growled angrily due to hunger.

Love and heartbreaks - part 8

" What's the matter? Aren't you able to cope up with the dance? Ali is a great teacher. I don't think that would be the problem...", she couldn't complete the sentence because of Mohit.

" Well, that's the problem. I am not saying Ali is not good. I am not a good student. I need someone who has loads of patience to teach me and I am not saying Ali doesn't have patience. Ali does have but he cannot teach like the way you do. I would want you to teach me.", he said overexcitedly.

This guy! Will he ever give up? She had thought shifting him to Ali would serve the purpose. But it backfired. God was playing mean tricks with her. Seriously! She had to come up with something to rectify this situation.

She had no other option to agree to teach him. "Ok! I will help you. But I can do that only during the evenings if that's ok with you.", she said heavily. " No problem! I can keep my weekends free for you.", he winked at her. She hated that . For a min , she wanted to say no.

When she left, he jumped with excitement. He did it. He knew somewhere in his mind that this plan  would work. He walked back home , feeling so happy and impatient for the next weekend. His happiness made him feel lazy and home bound for the first time.

The whole week had gone really slow , making him miserable. Everyday would start with him counting days for the weekend. This never had happened to me where he wanted the girl so badly. It was always other way around with his previous relationship. Was this love or something else? Whatever it was , he was loving it.

Love and heartbreaks - part 8

Ali was short with curly hair. His features were strongly crafted by God. Unfortunately he had forgotten to extend Ali length wise. Anyway, best things came in small packets. He was good dancer as well a brilliant teacher.

Mohit was not happy with this settlement. Though he had learnt many steps but he wasn't happy. He tried to meet her someway after class. But she would leave before him. He also tried to meet her during breaks and sometimes he would check what time she was free.

Alas! He would always find her with her students. He knew she was doing it on purpose. One fine day he was talking to one of listeners. It was same old issue. Girl likes the boy but she is too shy to tell her feelings to the boy and every time she meets her love, she develops cold shivers or something crops up.

As he solved her query, an idea struck him. What if she ignored him, he would find some way to get to her. Smart! He praised himself for his spontaneous ideas. He ended his show by concluding, " Guys, don't give up on love. If your love is true, you will find a way to get to it. So don't stop loving. Don't stop waiting or hoping. So turn up the volume to highest volume as I am going to play Ushers- dis gotta us falling in love with us again. "

The classes were on the weekend. And he couldn't wait for it to arrive. It was Saturday morning. He followed the steps Ali showed with unintrested enthusiasm. He didn't care about Ali's constant nagging him for the mistakes he did.

At last class ended. Mohit ran out of class like an overexcited kid. He was about to ask the recieptionist about her when he saw her coming across. It was like as if he had found the treasure of his life. "Hi! I need to talk to you alone!", he said. She looked at him with extreme curiosity.

Love and heartbreaks - part 7

Everyone danced to the tunes of Lady Gaga. She observed their moves. They danced well and knew what they were doing. They were all professional except one- Mohit! He tried to copy everyone's moves and failed miserably. He goofed up with the steps of his own which looked like as if a clown was dancing.

She knew it from the time she had seen him in her class. He was here for her. " How sweet ?", she thought.  Few minutes later she discarded those thoughts away. "Sweet! Bullshit! He's just flirting with you. Boys will be boys! I have to get him away from him. Yes! I will send him to Ali!", she thought.

She had enough of love and it's added miseries. Now she didn't want to get into that mess again. The only focus was dance to her. She wanted to concentrate on her upcoming program without any distraction. And he was a distraction.

She stopped her students in between their routine. "Guys! I am impressed to see your moves. I must say that I have learnt few steps and I would like to learn a lot from you." She looked at him. He was smiling at her sheepishly. She asked them to take break for few minutes before they could start.

As the students moved out of the class, she walked towards him. He seemed very excited at her sight. " Hey! So you joined my dance institute! That's great.", she said , scolding herself for being too sweet. "Yeah! I heard that you are good dancer teacher from popular source.", he replied.

She smiled and said, " Vert funny ! Why did you join the ' advanced class'? ", she asked, trying not sound amused. " Oh is this advanced class? Didn't I dance well. ", he counter questioned her. She tried not to laugh but she couldn't control herself."You know the beats but your forms are weak. I am sorry to say this. You suck at it. I advice you take some basic lessons from Ali. He's very good teacher.", she said politely. He was disappointed to know that he was being shifted. He felt even more annoyed that he wouldn't get to spend time with her.

Love and heartbreaks - part 6

Lady Gaga played in the background while everyone looked stunned. It was supposed to be jazz dance class and not freestyle one. There were few giggles but it stopped when they saw the stern look on their teacher's face.

How dumb she could be? And all this was because of that uy. Why did he come on the first place? If he had come for forgiveness, then he would be disappointed because she was in mood in forgiving anyone in her life for time being.

She was angry. Why was he on the first place? If he had come for forgiveness, he would be disappointed. She was in no mood to forgive anyone for time being.

She was in worst mood. However she had to pretend she was in best mood. She had learnt to bury her true emotions for very long time. Now she was master in it.

She had to come up with something to fix her mistake. "Hi, I am really glad you guys have joined the program. And I promise you that in the end of the program, you will be perfect in jazz.", she said. While she spoke about the program, she looked at him. He seemed to be lost.

She understood there was something wrong with him. She had to somehow make him realize that he was simply wasting his time. " Before we could start the basics, let's me see how well you groove. So let's begin.", she said with sly smile.

Love and heartbreaks Part 5

Why did she do that? She cut the call before he could say anything. Holy crap! Only if he hadn’t rejected her request. But why should he feel guilty? It wasn’t on purpose. Girls and their tantrums ! They never compromise on anything. He distracted himself into other matters of life. It was waste to think about silly matters such as girls.

Everytime he shifted his mind to better things in life, he would end up thinking about her more. How could he forget his angel in yellow dress. He had to see her again. He called her again next morning just before his show began. “ Hi ! What’s miss damsel doing?”, he asked. “ I am at work! Can you call me later?”, she replied, disconnecting the call.

Ah! Shit! Another failed trial. “ Why would one be so angry at small matters like friend request being rejected? We are strangers and met only once. Weird!”, he wondered. Whatever! He got back to work and he spent rest of the evening with his friends. But he couldn’t concentrate for long on work. When he went out with his friends, he would look at his phone to see whether she had called him.

At home, an idea struck him. What if she didn’t pick his call, he could go to her workplace. Thanks to internet and social media, people could reach out to anyone from anywhere. He looked at her profile to get to know various details about her. “ Dance! Great! So she is a dance teacher”, he thought. He surfed the institute location on google map. He lay on his bed only after he drew the mission impossible.

Molly walked to her institute. It was going to be new batch of young people who aspired to discover their dancing bone. She had completed a month session with kids. It had gone successful and now she was experimenting a new age group- youth like her. She walked inside the class to greet her students. There were around twelve students in the room. Not bad! It was a good start. She looked around her students. There were five boys and eight girls.

As she looked around, she saw a familiar face. Not again! Why was he here? Was he stalking her? This was crazy! She didn’t want to get attached to love. But love seemed to never leave her alone. She wanted to leave, but couldn’t leave. She was tangled in web of not to leave or stay back. “ STAY BACK!”, her mind ordered. She walked towards the music system and played Lady Gaga’s Telephone.

Love and heartbreak -Part 4

Every heartbreak story we hear, it seems like our story being told in different ways. Molly felt worse when her friends spoke about their love and heartbreaks. She did feel for them but she was tired of hearing same old thing. Sometimes she wished that she would run away to strange place where love didn’t exist or bothered anymore.

Dance was the only way that released her from the pain. She had thrown out all the memories ( books, movies and etc) that reminded of love away. She had told herself that she was never going to fall in love again. She put all her energies into dance from morning to noon. During the mornings, she would spend time teaching dance at her institute. When evenings came, she would take part in street dance competitions. She came home tired and only energy left to write her diary.

Sometimes she would open the old entries of diary to revisit the sweet memories with Randy. She didn’t understand why she did that. But she missed them terrible. Those carefree days with him would never come again. Why did he leave her? She had given him what he needed. Then why? The reason he gave was not satisfactory- she was needy. Needy!

She remembered the times when she would message or call him. Her messages would be about his welfare and what he did or not did. She would only share her problems with him because she felt comfortable with him. She felt happy and relaxed with him. If that is called needy, yes! she was needy.. needy of his affection, attention and care. But she never got that back.

She had enough of this crap and kept her book aside. She was about to turn the lights when a message triggered on her phone. She checked it even though she didn’t want to. It was Mohit! She was surprised. How the hell did he get her number? “ Hi! How did you get my number?”, she pinged him back.  In a minute, he replied, “ You said that you are popular. So I got your number from the popular source. And hey! Who publishes their phone number in Fb.”

She cursed badly at herself. She had thought that she had removed her mobile number from the facebook. She had been getting random messages lately. “ Thanks for telling me! I thought I had removed it. I will do it soon.”, she said and wishing him good night. “Wait! It is still 11:40 in night. It is still young and you are sleeping soon.”, he flirted. “I have work tommorrow. Nice talking to you”, she said  and she switched off her phone. She had enough doses of broken love and she didn’t want to face heartbreak again and get tagged again as needy or clingy.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 3

Rejection is the mother of all pains. It crumbles even the strongest hopes in life. But it all matters how one takes in rejections in life. Positive way of facing them is better than running away from it. It is easy to say but impossible to put it into actions. Molly was facing the impossible thing. Her heart didn’t want to trust that he had declined her friend request.

At last she came up with a terrible fact - All the boys are the same. She looked at the yellow dress in disgust. She folded the yellow dress and tossed it inside the wardrobe where she wouldn’t find it. “ What do these guy get from hurting a girl? Why do they show signs of interest and then blow it?”, she wondered. She tried to focus her attention to dance and other activities. In the end she would get distracted towards the Randy and Mohit. Her inner self would ridicule her for taking the dress. Why? She knew she should have taken the stand and said no. Who was this Mohit? No one .. A guy who she knew for few minutes. Aggh! When will she learn that once bitten is better than being twice bitten. Ah! The love is a bee looking for a heart to ruin.

The alarm rang! It was twelve already. Mohit woke up to shrill sounds of alarm. But when he checked the time, it made him jump out of the bed. He had a show to host which was going to run on hair in an hour. Fortunately god was great in making the distance between his house and radio Youngistan headquarters shorter. He dressed up , missing bath and just brushing his teeth for refreshing himself. He had his usual two litres of milk ( Someone had advised him that if he drinks more milk, he would gain weight. He hated his thin personality.).

He was right on time as the show was going to begin. His friend Vinod was waiting with the script at corner of the control room.  He hugged him tight and whispered thanks. The show had begun while Vinod adjusted the sound and everything else while Mohit began the show. His show was all about love and problems associated with it. It was an irony for a guy like Mohit who was never serious about love to host the show. But it was amazing for him to listen to all the love problems of his listeners and the root cause of their problems was love. In the end some of his advices worked and some backfired. He was known for his practical solutions.

“ Hey Manju! How has your day been?”. he asked. “ Hi Mohit! Day is not going well! I like this girl. But she isn’t understanding. She has blocked me from social networking site as well as she is  not picking up my calls. What do I do?”, the listener shared his problem.  The only thing Mohit heard was ‘social networking site’. It hit him hard. “ Omg! That yellow dress girl! How could he forget her?”. he thought. “Hmmm.. Manju! The only advice I can give is , don’t let your girl go. Stick to her hard that she will not resist to say no.”, Mohit said animatedly.

Fortunately it was last caller. He rushed to his desk and took out his cell. He logged into facebook quickly. He checked his requests.. the one he rejected. There it was- her request. He had declined it due to his foolishness.  He thought about the yellow dress she had tried on  at the shop. She was looking pretty. He had felt bad when she had left it because it was inexpensive. When she came back, he was overjoyed and bought the dress for her. Somehow he had created a make believe story and she took it due to her sheer innocence. He had to make up with her. But how?

Love and Heartbreaks - Part 2

They strolled to a nearby coffee shop. The shop wasn’t the usual high end one like Starbucks. It was a tiny shop run by family with aim to cater to young crowd. While walking to coffee shop, they got to know at least their names. They sat on the corner seat due to place constraint. The cafe was fully crowded.

Molly ordered for two chocolate milkshake after a long discussion on what to drink. The order didn’t take long to arrive. The service was quite fast and good than what they expected it to be. As she sipped the milkshake, she observed him. He was quite a looker. He had mysterious black expressive eyes. There was an endearing innocence in his face. He wasn’t neither fat nor thin. He had athletic body like the one she dreamed of. She was amazed by the excitement he had when he spoke. It was like he loved the subject he spoke. Who can forget his hair?  He had medium length hair with bangs that carefully fell on his forehead. His parents had done a justice by keeping his name Mohit. His charm had attracted her like his name.

The whole time she was simply staring at him. She hadn’t paid any attention on what he spoke. How could she when such pure beauty had captured her attention? It was not so strange that Mohit had replaced Randy. Randy was past and Mohit was in. “ I am really sorry for being rude!”, he said, bringing her back to reality. “ Hmmm.. Rude! You weren’t rude.”, she said with confused look on her face. He smiled and said, “ I have been talking the whole time. I didn’t give you chance to speak. I know you girls love to talk.” She bent her face down with embarrassment.

“ Well! It is not rude. It’s good to listen sometimes.”, she blushed. She looked at her watch. It was late for her dance practice. She grabbed her bag and left the money to be paid for the chocolate milkshake. “ Bye! I am getting late. I will see you later.”, she said hurriedly. “Hey , how do I contact you? Are you in Facebook or at least give me your number.”, he said. Her heart skipped a beat in excitement. “ I am in Facebook. Find me! I am popular.”, she said with a wink. She left him while scolding herself for her dumb wink. She prayed that he didn’t think that she was cheap.

He smiled, nodding his head in amusement. She was cute. He had never seen a girl who could make him relax as well as make his heart beat faster at the same time. He wished she could stay a bit longer. He was having great time with her. He took his phone and dialled his friend’s number. “ Hey Ranjit! Wassup! Let’s catch up! What about cricket? Perfect! Meet you at two.”, he said, walking out of cafe.

Mohit spent his afternoon , playing cricket with his friends. Later he spent his evening again with different set of friends, playing Fifa. As the night fell, he was at the club, poking fun at his friends and enjoying his six beer cans. He came home intoxicated. He fell on his bed flat. He opened the facebook application in his phone to check notification. There were series of friend requests from random people. He rejected most of them. However he took minutes to accept or reject one. It was from one girl.. the same girl he met in the morning. Due to intoxication, he rejected her request by mistake.

Love and Heartbreaks- Part 1

Molly was in one of her mood swings. Her mood swings would stay for few minutes and disappear in thin air. This one was going to stay for a bit longer. In such situations, Randy was medicine to cure her back to normalcy. Only if those unfortunate minutes never happened, she wouldn’t have lost him. So she turned to everything else that she thought would bring her back from the lost state.

She watched romantic movies. But every scene reminded her of the dreadful past she spent with him. Next she tried to listen to Olly Murs  and ended up listening to Tum hi ho. The song added more fire to her emotion. She would break down. Later she stopped listening or watching anything. She opted for next big thing- Shopping!

She window shopped all the shops in every mall or bazaar. At last she found a dress of her liking. It was yellow  strapless short dress. She tried it on. It fitted her body so perfectly. She turned around to see how the dress swirled with her. “ Beautiful!” , she said. As she got out of the dress and looked at the price tag, she left it immediately. “ 1500 bugs!”, she cried. It was expensive. She walked out of shop, disappointed.

She walked into a few more shops with the yellow dress in her mind. None matched the one she had in her mind. After all the trials and lookouts, she returned back to the shop. Unfortunately the dress was already taken. She saw a young man paying for the dress. Alas! She lost her perfect dress like she lost Randy. Luck had turned bad for her. She was losing everything she wanted.

“ Hi! Are you looking for this dress?” , the same young man ( who bought the dress) said. “ Hmmm.. yes!”, she said softly. Her voice was too low for him to hear. “ You can have it!  I thought of presenting the dress for my sister. But I saw you sulking here and the way you were looking at it. I think you must have it. Please don’t say no.”, he said. She looked at him surprised. “ Thank for your gesture. I can’t take this. You paid for it.”, she protested.

He smiled and handed her the dress. “ Anyway the colour wouldn’t look good on my sister. I noticed it after paying. You can have it. Please accept it.”, he said. After a lot of protests, she accepted his offer. However she made one condition- she was going to pay for it by treating him a coffee. He agreed to her condition.

Swizz Cheese - Part 7

“Irene ! I’m sorry.  I respect you for the person you are. And you deserve the best. That’s why I feel so bad that I can’t give you my best.”
I did not say anything. I got up. I opened the door and left. He called my name but I did not look back.
He left in a week to Switzerland.
Our exam results came out after few months. I aced almost everything. As for marketing, I was the topper. I was happy.
After a week I got a letter. It was from Switzerland. An acceptance letter from the university in Switzerland.
I was puzzled as I had not sent the scores as planned.
Along with it, was another letter. It was from Daniel
It read:
Irene,
I’m sorry for what I have done. I wish I could take back what I said. I was in touch with Mrs. Gloria and she had mailed me your scores. I showed it to my father who is also the dean of this university. He was impressed and decided to take you in for the program.
I followed a set of rules and codes as part of the dignity of my profession. When I slept with you I felt like I let you down as a teacher. But I did not realize I was letting you down as a person with feelings.
I realize what a mistake I have made. Please forgive me. I love you.
Enclosed in this envelope is a ticket to Switzerland. Your program starts in two weeks. Everything has been arranged. I have spoken to your parents as well.  If you get onto that plane, I will take it as, you have given me chance to earn your forgiveness and love.
I closed the letter. I was in tears.
The day had come. I bid farewell to my folks and Nammi. I hopped onto the plane and left India.
The flight landed on time. I got my luggage got out of the airport. The scene was breathtaking . I took a deep breath of fresh air.
I looked around and I saw him in the crowd. He smiled. I walked up to him.
“Forgive me Irene, I love you” he said, with love in his eyes
I took a deep breath and said, “ Daniel, I loved you. I gave you my everything. But you threw that in my face  for respect of profession. How is loving me a disgrace to your profession ? It was love after all ,not some unforgivable sin. You made me feel like crap. You just left the day after we had sex and I had to literally chase you for an explanation. I just feel, like you said, I deserve more.”
I walked away slowly. He was in shock. I caught a taxi and got in, feeling liberated.
Things went well for me. I completed my program and got placed in a very good position in Nike. I fell in love again with a man who did not think twice about my worth.
I did see Daniel sometimes. We smiled and exchanged few words. I guess he moved on too. I don’t know.
But I will always remember him for three things
One: He will always be my first- the man to whom I lost my virginity, and the first man I fell in love with.
Two: I respect him for his dedication to his profession. He understood my strength and put me in a program that brought the best out of me. He really was a good teacher
Thirdly, and most important, he taught me, that I deserve the best, and I should never settle for anything less.

Swizz Cheese -Part 6

I leaned in  and kissed him on the cheek.  He was shocked and he closed the book, “What are you doing , Irene? ”, he asked totally confused. That just turned me on more. I leaned in and kissed his soft lips. He resisted. I hugged him and kissed him more fiercely. He parted his lips and I could feel his tongue explore my mouth. His hand moved to my hip. My fingers ran through his hair as we kissed harder . I started moaning and he stopped abruptly!
“No Irene, this is wrong”, he whispered
“What?! What is so wrong Daniel ?  I’m not a child, I know what I am doing”, I yelled
He stood up. He took me to his room and pushed me onto his bed.
He kissed my neck. I could feel his tongue draw sensuous patterns while his lips played along. His hand unbuttoned my shorts. I bit his lip and nibbled on it. Now his hand was exploring inside my T shirt. He squeezed my breast. It was pleasure I never knew existed. He paused, he got up and took off his clothes. There he was standing naked in front of me. The lights were dim and yet I could clearly see his godly sculpted body. My body would be so small under his, so petite, but I liked that, to feel protected under him.
He gently removed my shorts and Tee.
“Are you sure about this? “, He asked
I nodded. He looked at my body. I could feel the heat between us rising. He came closer and kissed my tummy, my hip, then he came up and kissed my breast as he unhooked my bra. He took me to the land of pleasures. He went down and gently removed my underwear and there on his bed, I lay naked. I could see the passion burning in his eyes  looking at my naked body.
He came close. He kissed my lips and slowly nibbling and kissing my body. He went down on me. I was in heaven, his tongue was exploring me  inside. I grabbed his hair, with pleasure I was moaning, as his tongue moved in patterns. My moan grew louder. He came up and kissed my lips gently. He looked into my eyes and slowly entered me. I moaned in pain. My fingers gripped his back, probably leaving nail marks. It took a few seconds for him to completely enter me. He moved back and forth. His movements became faster and I could not differentiate whether it was me or the bed was shaking so fiercely.
I wanted to be his forever….
I woke up, as the sunlight fell on my face. I sat up on the bed.  Last night was real, I thought, to myself. It was a beautiful reality.
I got up and put on my clothes. I went to the hall where I saw a note on the table.
It read: “Had to leave, study well for the test, good luck”
“That was weird”, I thought. It was Sunday. The test was tomorrow. I was disturbed  but I had to pull myself back together.
I went to the PG and studied as much as I could
Finally Monday morning arrived. Nammi and me sat outside the exam hall. We did some last minute studying.
The bell rang for the exam. I went inside and took my seat. I prayed for a few minutes and looked around for him. He was nowhere among the examiners.
I put my head down. A drop of tear rolled down my cheeks.  Just then someone slipped an answer booklet on my desk. I looked up. It was him.
“Best of luck! Do well !”, he said and moved away.
I was heartbroken. He did not even smile.
The test went well. He did not even speak a word to me the rest of the week.
All my exams were done. It was the last day of my course.
Why was he avoiding me?  I had to know! I barged into his cabin
“Why? Why won’t you talk to me ? I need to know” I yelled at him
“Irene! Please, what we did was wrong ?  That night was a mistake. It should not have happened. You are my student Irene” he said, sounding troubled.
“So what Daniel? I’m not going to be your student forever. Is that the best you could come up with?”
He came closer to me.
“You don’t understand. I respect this profession a lot and what I did with you was wrong. There is no justification”.
I held his hand,  “There is justification, I love you”.
“Irene”, he looked at me “Irene I just don’t feel love”.
I was shattered.
