I will wait- part 2

Waiting was something that I wasn't accustomed to. I was known for impatience amongst my friends and family. But as people say marriage changes you complete. Patience came to me naturally after marriage.  Love was cure as well drug to me.

It was almost time. I looked at the clock. He would be coming any moment. As the minutes passed by, my heart was racing faster. The excitement doubled. I had asked him to come home early. I hoped that he would come at least this time.

I had inspected one more time whether everything was in place. The table was set. The exotic mixture of the smell and sound flowed inside the room. Love - the sweet and beautiful feeling within me had enhanced the whole night.

It was getting late now. I had requested him to come home early at least today. Where was he?  Did he forget our anniversary again? Maybe he was busy with his work that he didn't see time. What if something wrong had happened to him? I called him several times. But he didnt pick up.

My fears were growing until he messaged me that he wouldn't come home. Ah! Relief! What! Confusion struck me. Why was he not coming? My plans sinked down. I took the decorations out and cleaned everything. When I was done about with things, I was left with only pain to deal with. I knew this was coming . But I rebuffed it.

Four years were not enough for him to move on. I knew about his past and readily accepted it. His ex girl friend died a painful death according to the outside sources. I wanted to be a part of his life. And it wasn't a lie that I tried a million times to express my love to him. He didn't approve my love. I was only his wife that his parents had selected for him.  However how much he would try to distance himself from me, I would still wait. So here I am, waiting for his return though I know he wouldn't . I will wait and wait forever.

I will wait - part 1

This night was fresh like our first night. The full moon was glowing in clear sky. The stars were gleaming dots , making the night more romantic. I was ecstatic for this night past one month. I had planned everything from the colour of flowers to the tablecloth of the dining table. I had made sure that everything about night was special and everlasting.

It was the fourth year of our blessed union. I had given my heart from the day our bethroal was announced. It wasn't long after our engagement that our proposed marriage took place and I became official Mrs.Taani Kapoor a.k.a Mrs Vivian Kapoor.

Vivian.. The name that still makes my heart skip a beat. I was and still will be truly, deeply and madly in love with him. Every moment spent with him was like heaven to me. I took note of small things that made him smile.

Smile! I hardly saw him smile. He wasn't really expressive type unlike me. He was more focused with work and life. But that's okay. Opposite poles attract, they say.

It didn't matter to me if he forgot my birthday or any special occasion that mattered a lot to me. Men never give importance to dates like we women do. This was fine and normal. Though it would affect me inside but I didn't want him to complain that I was nagging.

I wanted to be perfect wife to him. I wanted to be with him at all times as promised during marriage. His happiness was more important than mine. If it takes a lot to get into his heart, I don't mind. But why was it becoming more tiring after four years?

Death by love- part 14

The mourning period had not yet ended. But Egypt got it's new king.Eeremenihotep was crowned as new ruler for the kingdom. It wasn't happy occasion for all except Amen-hotep.Everyone knew the evil personality of Eeremenihotep. The priests and viziers had already forecasted the doom of the kingdom.

Amen-hotep was excited to meet the new king. His desire was going to be fulfilled at last. The kingdom will be his in a day's time. The difficult part of removing his sister was over. He would easily remove his brothers from his way. He only had to wait for his dear friend a.k.a puppet to hand over the kingdom to him.

The patience was reducing as the days passed. Eeremenihotep would ignore Amen-hotep by keeping him wait for long hours. Amen-hotep was of no use now. He had got what he want.

One fine day, the degree of patience had dried up inside Amen-hotep. He barged inside the king's chamber though he wasn't allowed by the guards who once bowed their heads when he walked around the palace. The king rose up from his bed and pushed aside the female concubine. The king was angry at the unwanted visitor.

"How dare you walk like that into my room? Don't you know I am the king?", Eeremenihotep growled. " King! Don't forget that it was me who made you the king. And as promised you were supposed to hand over my kingdom.", Amen- hotep snapped. A series of argument took place between them and it ended into physical fight. The guards grabbed Amen-hotep by his hands. " Bring the advisors and viziers into the court! Tell them I have an announcement to make and bring the prisoner.", he ordered.

Inside the court, everyone waited for his annoucement. When everyone was gathered, he rose up and said, " I order the prisoner as well as his brothers to be exiled from the country on the account of misbehaving with the king."  Amen-hotep was in disbelief. After all the hard work, he got nothing in the end. Before he was sent to exile, he took his life. Eeremenihotep's rule scummbed in front of Roman's rule. As for Aahhotep - Bakaa , their names remained in history books for their sacrifice for the country. Their love was cherished after their death.

Death by love- Part 13

She was tired of life’s challenges, sacrifices and politics of her own people. She felt that she was never fit to be the Pharaoh. The dreams that she had in her life was long gone. Now she had enough of the other life she never desired. The zest of life had gone when she was handed the throne. She had given up many times but Bakaa had always encouraged her and showed her the right path until the misunderstandings started cropping up between them.

At last the door was open, she called in her loyal servant. “ Bring me a glass of milk and my sword!”, she ordered. The servant looked puzzled though she followed the order without questioning the queen. After few minutes the servant bought in the sword and milk. She dismissed the servant. She stared at the sword. It had been long since she had seen the sword after the unfortunate incident. It had bought back the memories of Bakaa and her.

Their first meeting to their final goodbye replayed in her mind like series of scene of a movie. She remembered the time when she had told him once that she would drink a glass of milk before death. And how could she forget that he had admonished her about bringing up topic of death. He hadn’t spoken for days until she promised him that she wouldn’t speak of death. Now time had come.

Death was the only choice left to her. Her soul had left her body when she had killed Bakka. She took the sword and held , pointing at her abdomen. One small move could take her life within second. She thought about it one more time. If death made her closer to Bakaa and if death was the only way that could reduce her sins, then she would accept death with open arms.

She raised her sword once more and pushed it into her stomach. The blood oozed out from her stomach. She fell down due to loss of blood. She lay on the floor when everything around her slowly dimmed. Her heart was beating faster and then slower within few minutes. Gradually her body stopped functioning. She could see a white light suddenly appear from nowhere. She could feel her walking towards the light while leaving her body on the floor. She saw Bakaa with open hands. She rushed towards him and held him tight. “ Now no one can part us, my love.”, he whispered softly into her ears.

The news of death of Aahhotep doomed the whole country. The people cried on the death of their favorite daughter. It had shocked the entire nation. When everyone was reminiscing about the death of the queen, her brothers and husband rejoiced her death. They celebrated the whole night . They didn’t even pay their last visit when she was buried in a decorative death box. She was mummified to preserve her body for years to come. Later her death box was placed inside the chamber of the largest pyramid ( she had been designing since her reign).

Death by love- Part 12

She was stunned at his request. No criminals or martyrs before him had asked such a sentence. She walked towards him. She looked at his grey eyes. How much she loved , staring deep into those eyes. They always had answers to every questions she had. But today, it was blank. There was no warmth or any kind of emotions in those eyes.

“ If that is what you want, I cannot disregard your last request.”, she said with a deep breath. He knew she didn’t want to do this. He was happy that her love for him was same. But he was good at not expressing his feelings. “ Get my sword.”, she ordered her guard. She took her sword with discontentment. She looked at him one last time. There was no fear in him. He knelt down and looked down. She bought the sword close to his neck and raised it. She put her sword on his neck , slashing his head away from his body. His head fell down like a ball.

Her hands shivered while there were claps by the people across the court. There was mixture of joy as well as grief. She threw her sword and ran until her legs pained. She was numb by the action. She looked at her hands. She felt his blood all over her hands. She tried to clean them by rubbing it against her white linen dress. She wanted to cry. But the tears didn’t drop.

It was evening. The cool dry winds blew across  the country. The pink sky was sign of the end of day. The birds flew towards their nests. Queen Aahhotep sat on the steps of the stairway towards the garden. She hadn’t cried for quite some days. She didn’t drink or eat. She had shut herself from the outside world. She rebuffed from her responsibility to address the court.

“ Your majesty, it is not right for you to sit inside and not take care of the issues of the country. Please come out, the country needs you.”, the advisor said. “ Oh the wise one, please advise me if I can give up the throne. I am no longer fit for this role.”, she asked. The advisor was shocked by the question. “ Your majesty, giving up the throne that is rightfully yours will only show that you are coward. The history will portray you as coward to the future.”, he said gently.  Aahhotep didn’t say a word. She only dismissed him without any promise to coming back to the throne.
The evening passed quickly. She had sent back the dinner. She also dismissed the guards from her room. She wanted to left alone. She strolled across the room to the balcony where she stared at the stars shining in the sky. She imagined Bakaa , her father and ancestors smiling at her from the above. She saw Bakaa’s face in the sky, inviting her to be with her.

Death by love - Part 11

Her conscious reprimanded her that she was a queen first and nothing else. She revolted against her inner conscious. But like always she failed. She looked at him one last time like a lost lover.  She wanted to disbelieve that he was involved in this treachery. Even if he was involved, she wanted to release him. How can she ever punish him?

Unfortunately life and love cannot go together always. One has to sacrifice either love or life. She had to choose the people’s life against his which she didn’t want to. His crimes were told one by one. Some were unbelievable and few made her think twice. Was this person the same one she fell in love with? The Bakaa she knew , was a person with morals and love for the country. He would never bring anything before than the country.

“ Before I could announce the punishment, I would want to hear the commander speak for himself.”, she ordered. She always did this. She believed in two way justice where she had both the criminals as well as victims of crime speak for themselves. Later she made the decisions based on the words of the both parties.

“ I don’t have anything to say, your majesty. If people of this great country believe that I have done this crime, then I will not speak. Because if I speak, the traitors of this country will use my words as tool for their evil actions. Therefore I won’t speak. I will die as martyr.”, he said with firm voice.
Everyone in the court including Amen-hotep stared at him with contempt. “ Your majesty, I would advise you to announce your wise judgement now.”, Amen-hotep said.

“ Amen-hotep! Why do you want to kill me soon? You will get what you want. Patience! I think your friend Eeremenihotep has not taught you about patience.”, Bakaa mocked at him. This angered Amen-hotep and he stomped towards Bakaa, trying to strangle him. Aahhotep raised from her throne and screamed, “ Stop this commotion now! I need order in the court. Brother Amen-hotep, I want you to stay away from the prisoner of the country.”

Everything came to a halt. Amen- hotep obeyed his sister’s orders for the first time. When everyone were settled, she paused for sometime and said, “ Bakaa, you don’t have the right to accuse my husband or brother of your sins. I announce the punishment that could equal to your heinous crime.” He didn’t plead for mercy. He expected the punishment. When she walked down from her throne, he said, “ Your majesty, the punishment that could equal to all my sins would be dying in your hands. As a last wish, I would want you to kill me.”

Death by love - Part 10

The weather was hot and humid. The cold winds blew the sand from one part of the land to the other part of land. The blanket of clouds prevented the sun rays to trespass. The light thunderstorms hinted the sign of rain. This was unusual occurance.

Aahhotep looked at the sky from the balcony of her master bedroom. Thunderstorm, large black clouds, cold wind and sprinkles of rain drops was a blessing from God. Or maybe it was a warning of bad omen approaching? Whatever it was , she hoped nothing bad happened.

" Oh queen! There are guards expecting you in the royal court with the prisoner.", the servant said , distracting her from thoughts in her mind. She dismissed him , promising him that she would come within few minutes.

She dressed like a king. She walked towards the royal court like a king . She sat on the throne as she was expected to do. It had become a routine for over ten years. She addressed the issues before she instructed her guards to bring the prisoner. She could barely recognise him but something in him reminded her that he was her lost love.

She had never expected that he would be bought alive. However she desired to see him again in living form. She had many questions in her heart that she wanted answers for. She wanted to not believe in this . But she had to believe what was there before her.

Bakaa had lost a lot of weight. He looked lean and older for his age. His charm was lost. He had prominent wrinkles over his mouth. He barely could stand. He was unrecognisable for even his love. But his greys eyes had made her fall in love with him all over again.

Death by love - part 9

Amen-hotep's plans worked untill now. The misunderstandings between the lovers was created by him. He master planned the protest from the public. He hand picked the criminals for carrying out activities.

He had induced problems in his beloved sister's life. They were never close since her birth. She was only the daughter of his father's main wife to him. He hated when his father gave more importance to her than anyone of them.  He and his brothers were always judged at their behaviour or actions or what they spoke.

She got away with any mistake she did. The only reason was that she was his father beloved daughter. But now it was Amen- hotep's time. He made sure that her life became miserable. When he had king as his puppet, his revenge that was burning for long years erupted now.

He smiled when he heard people talk about what mistake the later pharaoh did by choosing his daughter. The royal courtesans were making statements such as - Women cannot rule the country. They accused her to be cause of bad omen in the country.

The affair between queen and commander came into light. Though Aahhotep and Bakaa never looked eye to eye after the marriage and their heated arguments, the gossip mongers didn't stop at throwing dirt on their relationship. They accused her to be right hand behind the loots at her father's grave.

She called her guards at once. She couldn't bear the accusations from public. The accusations mostly of her involvement in loot pained her heart. " Where is Bakaa? Why haven't you arrested him!", she asked . "We tried to search him everywhere. But he has absconded to the no where land." , the guard replied. " Don't give me excuses! Get me alive or dead! I don't care. I only don't know how you are getting him. I want him now. ", she ordered

Death by love - part 8

The upper Egypt and lower Egypt was slowly disintegrating into separate halves. There was war everywhere. Lives were lost. Properties were destroyed. Public became vulnerable to attacks between the upper Egypt and lower Egypt.

As usual they turned to Aahhotep for peace. She was their only hope to end this terrible war. She had ordered to imprision the people  who caused the rift between the upper and lower Egypt. She fined them heavily and sometimes ordered to bury them alive.

Nothing stopped these attacks. The wars became more and more aggressive. Thefts, loot and other criminal activities become common activities. It disturbed Aahhotep to see her country suffering. It didn't upset her when she heard about loots at her upcoming tomb. New raw materials like gold, silver, limestone and silver was stolen. This didn't give her nightmare.

However the news of her father tomb being ransacked by the looters left her shattered. But what angered her was when she learnt that the head of these loots was the commander Bakaa himself. Within few minutes, she instructed her guard toguards to bring in the commander before her.

Bakaa was disappointed at what was happening around him. He had tried to control the uprising at the city. What went wrong in Aahhotep's rule? He believed she trusted her husband more than she was supposed to. As per his sources, he believed that king Eeremenihotep had become allies to Amen- hotep. Thus the king was merely puppet in hands of Amen-hotep.

He wanted to share all these findings with her. But he knew that she wouldn't believe him with many misunderstandings cropping between them. Their relationship had torn apart. They had become cold and distant to each other.

Death by love- part 7

The city had achieved tremendous power during the initials years of Aahhotep's rule. But everything sweet always stays for shorter period. So success was the short term guest. The city again came into radar of bad times of failing policies and laws.

Aahhotep was miserable. Nothing worked as per the plans and visions her father had. She tried to alter some of them. However those plans backfired leaving her in heaps of guilt and regret.

Sometimes she just wanted to get over it. She tried to imagine these moments as terrible nightmare. But the all mighty didn't want her to forget. He bought in more problems in form of Bakaa's cold behaviour towards her.

Amen- hotep was in top of the world. He was enjoying her time. God was listening to him at last. The brothers had stopped troubling him. Now only thing he wanted was to use the king.

Eeremenihotep was the important person in his plan. He had to make Eeremenihotep to trust him. How a butcher feeds the lamb to make it healthy before chopping it. He had to use the same trick to get to his dream.

He had invited the king to his palace for many occasions. But the king refused politely, giving excuses that didn't convince Amen-hotep. Amen-hotep waited patiently for him. He knew the king was choosy about his friends. He didn't leave any stones unturned to get to him.

Death by love - Part 6

Tears welled in her eyes. She was broken to an extent that it couldn’t be mended. She tried to cover her emotions with all the strength. “ Enough! Don’t make those false accusations! Don’t forget, you are standing before your pharaoh! What makes you think I would give Maadi to my brothers , O commander ?”, she said, raising her tone.

She felt the pinch of guilt rising within few seconds.  “ You have become blind because of power. You don’t even remember your reply to my letter.”, he said. “ What letter ?”, she asked, trying to find the reason for Bakaa’s behaviour. “ Letter? Oh! Sorry, you are a Pharaoh with lot of important issues to focus on. Why would you remember this very small town?”, he said, leaving her abandoned with false guilt over something she hadn’t done.

Somewhere hidden behind the trees, Amon-hotep was enjoying the commotion between the two lovebirds ( Aahhotep and Bakaa). Why wouldn’t he be? It was he who had orchestrated it . Things were going almost smoothly as he wanted.  Well! It would go perfect if she didn’t learn about the letter. He had to do something soon.

She called her chief servant who served her quarters. “ Did you get any letter addressed to me?”, she questioned her servant. “ Pardon, my queen! I didn’t come across any kind of letter”, the servant said with her head bent as token of respect. She discharged her servant and went into deep thought, “ Maybe Bakaa has misunderstood the whole situation?”

She drafted a letter where she explained the reason of ignorance as well as addressed his misunderstanding. She instructed her servant to send the letter to Bakaa. However the letter didn’t go to Bakaa. Instead it landed on the hands of Amon-hotep.  “ As promised, I have asked the guards to release your husband.”  The servant thanked him million times before Amon-hotep instructed her to send his version of the letter to Bakaa.

Bakaa was enraged , reading the letter. His heart still didn’t believe that Aahhotep could be insensitive. “ What happened to you , my beloved Aahhotep?”, he spoke to himself. He blamed the power and politics to be the sole evil for this change in her behaviour. He wondered about whether time could change one so drastically. Can love die easily with time?

Death by love - Part 5

The marriage hadn’t changed anything in her life. Her life was the same - chained, lost, broken and everything that she never imagined her life would be. She had learnt how to transition from being pharaoh to wife. She tried to perform duties , she was supposed to do. She was calm and firm as the perfect ruler ; understanding and caring as a wife but this was what she showed people. No one knew that her soul was tearing and screaming loud for freedom.

But it wasn’t right for the pharaoh to behave in the indiscreet manner. If she left the throne , it would bring shame to her father’s decision. The people of Egypt counted on her. If she left, she would be labelled as coward. Her brothers would tear the country apart and mistreat her people. She couldn’t do that even when she had a choice. She kept herself bounded  by  the goal her father had visualized- united Egypt.

She was summoned to her husband Eeremenihotep. As a dutiful wife , she left her tasks to tend his needs. " You called me, dear husband. Tell me what can I do for you.", she asked. Eeremenihotep smirked and said, "I would want you to sign a document for me." She didn't check the document twice before signing it. " You didn't even read the document and signed it, beloved.", he said innocently.

She smiled and said, " Why should I read? You are my husband and it's my duty to obey you. And I know that whatever that document contains is good for our country." He got up from his seat and moved closer to her. He raised her chin and kissed her on her red full lips. " My Aahhotep ! You are truly wonderful person. You are the perfect wife every man should have. You didn't even doubt your husband.", he said. She didn't understand whether her husband was simply jesting or appreciating.

It had been long time that she hadn't seen Bakaa since marriage. However she made sure that she kept regular tabs on his life. Recently she had learnt that he was very angry on some unknown matter. Alas! Her source couldn't get the reason for his turbulent behavior. She wished her work let her some time free so that she could spend some time to know the welfare of people she once cared.

She was walking in the meadows, relaxing for few minutes before the afternoon session started. Suddenly someone catch her hand. She turned behind and saw Bakaa standing. He looked furious and his grey eyes were burning with anger. "What did you do? You gave your father's favorite town to your indigenous brothers. Do you have any idea how much that place mattered to your father? You have changed after becoming the pharaoh. I am disgusted with you.", he growled. She stood numb and immovable. She was stunned by the false accusations made by none other than the person she loved with full heart and soul.

Death by Love- Part 4

Love can even bring the angels hidden in the sky down. Love bought Aahhotep, the female pharaoh, to her beloved. She wanted to stay forever in his arms. But the time and situation didn’t permit so. She got out of the embrace and looked at his sharp grey eyes. At once she became obvilious of everything around her except him.

“ Aahhotep! I wish the same things as you do. But not at the cost of the country. The country needs you. I can wait.”, he said. “ Wait! What do you mean you will wait? How dare you say that?”, she argued. “ Why are you not understanding? You are not supposed to think about me. You are no longer a princess. You are the protector of this mighty land. Don’t forget that!”, he said softly. She wished that she didn’t hear those words.

“ Don’t say that! I never wanted to be the protector of..”, she tried to protest, but he cut her off in between. He held her face in his hands and said, “ It’s not about want, your majesty. You were chosen by your father and you have to do what you are obligated to do. Marry the prince!”, he said. She pushed him away from her and walked away in anger and disappointment.

The marriage happened within days after the announcement. The celebration was grand and was attended by many from different parts of world as well as the public. However the bride wasn’t glowing with happiness though she looked beautiful in her plain white dress. She was decorated with gold and silver jewellery. She indeed looked stunning.

Her groom Eermenihotep was her aunt’s ( Aahhotep’s father’s sister) son. He had disliked her since the childhood. Now he had made her his wife which added fire to his emotions called as hatred. As per the law of the land, royal could marry his half sister or cousin. Thus his principal wife was his half sister and his second wife was going to be his cousin - Aahhotep. Eermenihotep didn’t have charms of the prince. He looked ordinary with egg shaped forehead, long nose and thin lips. His sharp brain hid his physical weakness.

He looked at his new wife. She had changed a lot. She had turned into beautiful swan after all. But that wouldn’t change his feelings for her. He still remembered the day when she humiliated him in front of other children at his physicality. She had called him alien with egg shaped head. Well ! that was not enough. He had long list of reasons for his feelings towards him. He had waited for this day when he would treat her the same way as she had treated him.

Death by love - Part 3

Everything was turning upside down with the so called marriage proposal. How could she marry someone else when her heart was beating for Bakaa ? Bakaa was her life and soul. It was true that she had not seen him for months because of her new role. But her heart desired to be with him or glance him for a minute.

She was turning into a great leader with all the accomplishments that would be lauded in history. But what was the use of being known and famous when love of your life was missing. She blamed her new life for little or no time with Bakaa. Suddenly voice of her chief advisor rang on her ears , bringing her back to reality.

She hadn’t realized that she had walked out of the court and was at her room. She was also not aware of being followed by chief advisor. “Your majesty, sorry for following you to your quarter. But I had no choice. I as your advisor is obligated to tell you to accept this proposal in name of peace. I can understand your inhibitions towards marriage. But your father, late pharaoh would want you to do… accept the marriage.”, he said, his words breaking her heart.

She wanted to scream at him, ask him about the fate of Bakaa. Bakaa was ordinary commander. He didn’t belong to royal family. It was obvious that her marriage to Bakaa was unacceptable and sin. She felt helpless in hands of her mind and heart. She wanted to see him once before coming to any conclusions. “ I need some air to breathe. I will let you know my decision before tomorrow sunrise.”, she said. The chief advisor left her to solitary.

It was getting dark. The orange sky was turning into violet. She had tiptoed to the army’s quarters with herself covered from head to toe. She had mastered in the art of being invisible. No one recognized her and mistook her to be servant.  She walked to his room where she found him in company of a soldier in lower rank. When he saw her, he dismissed the soldier.  Once they were alone. he grabbed her hand and dragged her closer to him.

“ What are you doing here? You are queen. You aren’t supposed to be here.”, he said huskily. Ah! His voice was one of the numerous reasons that made her fall in love with him. “ I know. But I couldn’t stop myself. I want to be with you. I don’t want any of these worldly possessions- throne or palace. I feel at peace , holding you so close to me.”, she said softly. She meant each and every word she said and hugged him tightly. Ah! How much she desired about holding him close to her. She wished for the time to stand still.

Death by love- Part 2

It wasn't easy to be a king. She had to dress like a men, wear false beard and behave like a man. Her day was spent on attending secret training from the scholars to be a king. She also had training on using weapons and methods of fighting in case of war. She attended courts sessions where she announced punishments to gravest sins.

She looked into reducing constant wars that took place between Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt.
She also took architecture to next level. The only thing she was passionate about , being a king. She had temples built in name of god of peace.  She would commission many trade voyages that enhanced the economy of this magnificent country.

Her brothers envied her success silently. While the eldest brother controlled the angst among the younger brothers, he was secretly plotting on how to remove her from the throne. It was easy for him to remove his younger brothers out of his way to become king. But his sister proved to be difficult one. His plans included instigating revolt from the public, inducing criminal activities like bribes , loot and theft.

Unfortunately his attempts to strike on the woman pharaoh failed miserably. However he didn’t give up. One fine day, as he was enjoying the evening with his brothers, the youngest one said , “ Brother Amon-hotep,  why are all your plans are failing miserably day by day. You must now agree that our sister is smarter than us.”  Enraged Amon-hotep growled at his brother, “ How dare you say that ( there was a silence amongst the people gathered at the palace) ?”  He grabbed his brother by his neck and whispered in his ears, “ Don’t you say those words and if I do hear them again, I will get your mouth stitched and then you will never able to speak again.” He gave an evil laugh and left the area. His brothers were stunned.

He had to come up with a plan or else his brothers would find ways to insult him. He had to work faster. What went wrong in his plans? He wondered and wondered. He revisited all the plans in his head. He joted all the mistakes and linking them together. Later he came to conclusion, he had to find a weak link. He spent the whole night , thinking of weak link that would destroy Aahhotep ( his beloved sister) forever.

The morning began with the usual proceedings of happening in city in front of the female pharaoh. In midst of the proceedings, the royal priest appeared. Everyone including the pharaoh rose up as an obligation to show their respect. “ Your majesty, I have come here to remind you about the impending marriage that late majesty had announced between his daughter Aahhotep and Eermenihotep.”, the priest said. The word called marriage hit Aahhotep bad. Marriage! How can she forget her father’s  words of getting her married to Eermenihotep- her cousin brother?

Death by love- Part 1

It was era of renaissance in Egypt. A dream visualized by the late Pharaoh Althaksas about a united Egypt was falling apart. There were constant wars between upper Egypt and lower Egypt cities and other regions. He had given his throne to his favorite child and the youngest of his children- his daughter- Aahhotep.

She was his only hope. He didn't believe in any of his four sons. His sons were only into spending the wealth of kingdom into terrorizing the people of Egypt, women and cruel activities.
Aahhotep was good choice though she wouldn't be accepted easily by the people. But he was never going to give his throne to his irresponsible sons.

During his last breath, he had announced the next heir to the throne. When the name was announced, sons were definitely angered. Aahhotep walked towards her the royal throne where she was going to rule the country. People had readily accepted her though there were silent protest. However it died within few days of her rule.

Aahhotep had mixed feeling churning inside her heart. She had never thought her father would hand her huge responsibility to her. She was confused and scared. She had never expected more than being dutiful wife to Bakaa- the commander of the army. Her love for Bakaa was pure and precious. His love was her only hope to get away from the chained life of princess. Now it looked like distant dream.

She was beautiful with skin that glowed like moon. Her eyes were emerald green. Her black hair was pulled back and covered with the wig which was topped with golden halo. Her features were strong and perfect. It was like as if the Goddess of beauty - Hathor had blessed her with this immense gift. Her sharp mind and golden heart was added features to her beauty. Unfortunately Aahhotep believed that to be a curse.

Now after being given the kingdom by her father, she was going to be constant target by powerful men from her family, neighboring kingdoms and others who wished to remove her. It was cold night. She sat on the one of the stairs to the pool. She had bent down her face. Her mind was filled with fears and grief. She replayed the times when she played with the brothers.. the same ones who were thinking of taking her life. “ Why father! Why did you choose me?”, she cried out while looking at the stars in the sky.

Love and heartbreaks- Part 19

She turned herself to see familiar person standing next to her. His golden eyes still had some love left for her. He wore black tee with wording that said ‘ I am awesome!”. He was awesome indeed .. He would remain the same always for her. She hugged him instantly without thinking. “ Oh Randy! I missed you so much. Don’t leave me ever!”, she moaned like a kid.

He hugged her back , showering her all the love that he had hidden in his heart for long time. He was tall and charming guy. He had put on some weight which had enhanced his Greek God looks. “ I am sorry, babe. I missed you too. I promise that I won’t leave you. I should have known before that leaving you was a mistake.”, he said, holding her tight with no intentions of leaving her.

At last she beamed a smile. She felt alive again. She cleared her throat and wiped off the tears from her face. “ How come you are here at this hour?”, she asked. He smiled and cupped her face in his large hands, “ I couldn't stay away from you any longer. So I looked for you at your place and I saw you boarding an auto and I followed you. When I saw you coming downstairs from the building and walking to some place. I followed.”. he replied.  “ I didn't want you to get hurt.”, he added. This almost touched her heart and she said her thoughts loud, “ Why did we break up?”

“ Leave the past alone. Let’s get back together again. Give our relationship another chance!”, he said softly. She was ready to start again with him. But a fear made her think otherwise. What if he left her again? She released herself from the embrace. The colour of her face changed due to worry and fear. “ What happened?”,he asked. “ I need time to accept you in my life again.”, she said. He agreed to give her time.

As the days passed, Mohit was long gone past. No one ever spoke about them. Everyone had forgotten that chapter. New love replaced the old one. It took few days for her to get over with things and accept Randy back. Things went back to normalcy. Everyone only spoke about them. She was happy again. She was dancing and swaying to tunes of love again. She was all over in love with Randy.

Mohit’s life didn't get affected. He didn't end up being devdas. He was back to his old self- chilling out with friends, flirting with girls and having chilled beer at club. The only thing that did change was when he got drunk and danced, he wasn't thrown out by the security. As for his equation with Molly, it ended that time when she left his room in awkward state that night. And he was relieved. He hadn’t felt so happy and free since the time of his romance with Molly. When anyone asked him about her , he would simply say that, “ She wasn’t right for me.” How easily they moved on? The great love stories of past do not have any relevance in today’s world. There are three steps in love in today’s generation-
1. Fall in love
2. Break up
3. Replace it with new one or in simple words , move on and chill! ( There are many fishes in the lake. Why worry?)
