The Perfect Getaway - Part 6

He stopped her by grabbing her arm. She turned around in quick spin and was really close to him. His firm grip was too painful for her to bear. Anger turned her snow white skin into tomato red.  Suddenly her soft skin turned hot and he  quickly released her.

He stared at her right at her eyes. This was one of his method of turning his prey docile. He stared hard at her with only purpose to get his desire into her mind. The colour of his pupil had changed. It was more like teleportation. He had done this to most of his hunts and it had worked. He was counting on this.

"What are you doing?",she asked. It broke his focus. He came back to the same place where he had started. " Nothing!", he replied. " No, you were staring at me.", she said. " I wasn't.", he said. " Ok fine! Whatever", she snapped.

He was surprised that he couldn't change her mind through staring at her. How was this impossible? Every human could be hypnotized by his stare. He gulped at the thought that she was aware what he was doing. Maybe she was wearing her contacts. Maybe that's why it didn't work.

He felt like a failure. He should have checked this before. Now he had to come up with another lie to cover his act. He thought about various excuses and felt vulnerable for the first time to come up without any lie. It had become difficult to impress her.

He quickly knelt down and asked her for forgiveness and second chance. She felt embarrassed. Why was he doing this? He seemed weird to her. First he tried to kiss her neck and then hold hands. Now he tried to threaten  her with those looks after she stopped him from kissing her.

The perfect getaway- Part 5

The next day he prayed that she forgot the last day incident. He waited for her in an hour earlier than the usual time they were supposed to meet. He couldn't wait for to see her reaction. She wasn't too smart or innocent to overlook his actions. He had to know what's going on in her mind-A gift which he cherished throughout his hundred years of immortal life.

She was fine. She looked normal. Humans are so unaware about their surroundings. They miss tiny details that happen around them. He released tiny deep breath. He was back to his business of showing around. He had to make sure he didn't make any mistakes this time.

He had to find the right place to charm her into his trap of love. So he searched for the perfect place after dropping her back. He had zeroed to one place- Chetaeu's vineyard. Nicole Chetaeu , his dear owned that farm. It was open to all his nasty business. He tried to use the other method of seducing her and thus took her to vineyard.

When he bought her to the vine yard, she was captivated with the vast farm. The grape vines bore the blend of grenache, cinsault and mourvèdregrenache.  He explained her about the history of the farm as well as the process used to prepare the wine. But he hid few secrets like it would turn into playground of the cold blooded monster where human blood was savored as if it was red wine.

He was forcing his fingers into her delicate fingers. She would release when he held her hands. He tried to get closer to her while she would stay away. It was her third glass and she wasn't high. He had almost kissed her. She felt funny. What was he doing ? She quickly got up and was ready to leave  He failed again. What was he going to do?

He was going to lose the precious blood of pure human like her. He couldn't lose this opportunity like this one. It would be shame to hundred and odd year old  vampire to lose his art of hunting down his prey. He was known as the master in seduction and slow hunting. He would be laughing stock if Nicole found out that he couldn't seduce this pure angel.

The Perfect Getaway- Part 4

Who was he to stop her?, she thought deeply. She was never held at such intense gaze since her dreadful love. The memories of those painful days when love was sweet and forever replayed in her mind. Now when she try to evade those thoughts, this very annoying stranger reminded her.  But she wished it was someone else who stopped her from leaving.. from running away from her life. Unfortunately he was not going to come back.

" Where are you going? The museum is this way. Come, follow me.", he said , grabbing her hand and pulling towards the road she didn't want to go especially with him. She tried to get away but his clutch was too firm. " Hey, what you are doing? Don't touch me.", she said firmly. " Desole. I didn't mean to.", he quickly apologized with embarrassed look on his face. She walked past him to find herself standing in front of the museum. He had  taken her to the museum she wanted to go.

She apologized to him. He smiled. His smile would have melted any girl in her place. But she didn't melt. As she was inside the museum, she was amazed by the displays of sculptures, paintings and engravings bequeathed by Matisse. She was very engrossed in it while he followed her like Mary's little lamb. He only gazed at the expressions of wonderment she made when she saw something nice.

When she had completed the tour of the museum, she saw that he was still with her. " You still here. Strange! Don't you have friends or lover waiting for you ?  Do you simply grope young solitary women?", she asked like a curious child but she was actually mocking him. He laughed and replied, " No, I am only trying to be good citizen by helping a tourist. Is it harmful from the place you come from?" She smiled though it wasn't deep down from her heart. " Are you hungry?", he asked. She was certainly famished and simply nodded. Finally they broke the ice.

After lunch at small cafe, he showed her the other places in Nice. He took her to flower market where she bought some seeds of marigold. Then they walked for sometime on soft wet sand near the shore of the beach. They spoke about life and hobbies like the way strangers disclose about themselves to each other for the first time. He flirted at her for quite some time but she didn't get affected or show interest to his advances.

He dropped her at her hotel. As she wished him good night, he grabbed her. He pulled her by her hair where he put his mouth closer to her neck to bite her. His fangs had become visible. She was shocked by sudden actions taking place. She pushed him aside with great effort. "What are you doing?", she screamed. He quickly stopped from what he was doing. He looked at her shocked face. " Nothing! There was a bug. I...", he stammered and quickly took out the small insect crawling on her neck. He thanked the insect for being there for him.

The Perfect Getaway- Part 3

It had been hours since she walked out. She passed tiny shops, restaurants and hotels. She didn't have any idea which way she was walking. It was supposed to be a harmless walk around the strange new city after not
so good conversation with the hot not so trustworthy person. She had come across dainty museum in the tour guide booklet. It had been hours since she had been walking and there was no sign of museum.

Her legs ached. She didn't stop though she was lost. She continued towards the wrong road, misguided by her sweet conscious and helpful localities. Finally her legs couldn't tolerate the physical pain any longer.

She sat down on the pavement due to physical and mental exhaust. She had decided to head back to hotel when hot not so trustworthy man appeared from nowhere. His presence startled her.

Not again! He was prime reason for running away and getting lost. Now she didn't realize where she was. Unfortunately she wasn't in state to believe anyone. When heart breaks, trusting someone is impossible. Her love was her true best friend and she had lost him. With loss of friendship, her trust on any human be it mortal or immortal was a serious question.

"You are lost. I can help you.", he said. She didn't answer. She looked down. He sat next to her on the pavement. " Are you heading to the hotel?",he continued.  She pretended as if she didn't listen to him and stared at the guide booklet. She was on the right track. Where did she miss? " Oh so you want to visit the Matisse Musuem?", he asked, trying to break the cold ice.

She got up and walked away. This time she increases her pace though her leg begs to stop.  But he stopped her. How did he do that? Her heart beat stopped beating. Her pulse rate increased. Will he do some harm to her? What was he going to do? She didn't want to know. She simply remained calm when deep inside her she wanted to scream.

The Perfect Getaway- Part 2

Aha! How about a perfect getaway.. A break from all these problems. A break to rejuvenate the soul and mind. A break that may lead her to new love which will be truly hers. Wait! Love! This getaway was to get her away from love. She will stay away from this miserable love or anything that deals with love. She started  thinking about places she wanted to go. Voila ! She found it. South of France was a perfect getaway.

It had always been her secret desire during her teenage years to visit South of France. However she never got opportunity to fulfill this dream. But it was perfect opportunity now. So the next day she got the tickets booked to Nice (city located in South of France.  She reached Nice after approximately six hours of travel on a normal Saturday.

The drive from the airport to the hotel was mesmerizing one. She didn't change and left her backpack in the room. The excitement to check out the new place had made her not sit down for even one second. She had walked around the place with small piece of map.

She finally rested herself at small cafe located at the beach. A man sitting across her was staring at her for quite some time. He looked too good to be bad boy. Maybe his good boy looks had charmed many ladies into his trap. His short crop brown hair and smoking hot grey eyes were enough to make any woman fall for him at one glance. His broad chest ,chiseled arms and six pack abs made him desirable man amongst the men in this popular city. He observed his next target with great interest.

He walked towards her with his usual method of flirting with her. He was sure that she would never say no to him. " Salut , je suis francois Augustin Bellamy", he said. She looked at him with startled expression. He quickly translated her, " I am sorry. You look French to me. I am Francois Augustin Bellamy."  " Hi, I am Hannah", she said. " You travel alone? ", he asked in his french accent, trying hard to speak in English.
She went in deep thought. Should I believe this stranger? What if he was a kidnapper? She quickly got up from her seat and walked away. He simply stood staring at her. He had never been rebuffed by a lady. But she was some strange woman he had met. This didn't stop him to pursue her harder.

The Perfect Getaway- Part 1

She stood at the altar in her white bridal dress. She looked like an angel fallen from the heaven above, waiting for love of her life. The excitement of new bride sparkled from her eyes. Her fair skin resembled the snow white beauty with natural blush enhancing her beauty. Her copper red hair was perfectly made into bun which might have taken hours due to it's unruly nature. However few strands had managed to break out of the bun.

It had been hours. There were soft whispers about her late bird 'groom'. Where was he? Why couldn't be on time at this special occasion? Her heart questioned her like innocent child out of curiosity. Did he get weak knee about this marriage stuff? No! This can't be !  Love is reckless, her conscious advised. Did she make such decision due to reckless love without even thinking of possibilities?

She didn't cry. Crying is for weak hearted souls. She was definitely not weak. She had learnt the art of being unaffected by decision she makes or people she lets inside her life. Maybe he was held up somewhere. He would surprise her within few minutes. She was ready to be surprised and wait for him. She had waited for him for many years and few minutes were nothing.

A small girl ran towards her with piece of paper. She handed the paper to the bride. The bride looked at paper. It was old and yellowish paper. She recognized the neat calligraphic handwriting. It was from him. He had asked for forgiveness and mentioned that he had found new love. He had also mentioned that he wasn't ready to commit and was deeply smitten by new love. Hence he had left her because he did not want to destroy three lives due to this marriage. She was in pain.  She was devastated. She needed something to soothe the pain.

She threw the bridal bouquet and stomped outside the church. Her subconscious mocked at her ignorance and soft nature. She wanted to scream at highest level the sound could reach. She wanted to destroy his life. How dare he says that he didn't want to destroy three lives? He had broken her heart, tore her belief and killed her love only because he didn't want to destroy three lives. The demons inside her laughed at this terrible joke.

She spent the whole night thinking about how she could break out of this mess. What she could do to come out of this messy heartbreak? Will she send a bounty hunter to get him killed? Will she go and catch him red handed with his lady love and kill them instantly? Many ideas struck her head. But she couldn't zero on one idea.

Solitary Love - Part 21

Love seemed such an irony to him. He was living life with a lie all this time. The truth was bitter painful. It ripped his heart and soul. He wondered, " Maybe it was one of Willington's trick to break him."  How can anyone lie about one's wife death? Willington maybe the most cold person in the planet earth but he loved his wife to highest degree of madness. Willington's eyes said it all- she was no more.

Her beautiful face, green emralad eyes and long blond hair replayed in his mind time to time. Her careless smile, sweet voice, polite manners and thick British tone reminded him about the memories he shared with her. No one in this ground could measure his love for her.

He hadn't heard the words the Jamedar had said. He had even missed out the death sentence ordered by jemadar. He was engrossed in deep thoughts about all those days when he worried about her existence. He had prayed for her well being without a slightest thought that she was already gone ... far, far away.

"Do you have any last wish?", asked jamedar. These words were the only words he had heard. Last wish ! He had no wishes or desires. The only hope, wish or desire or whatever it was had gone. It didn't take him minutes to speak his " Death!", he said in careless voice.

Everyone was shocked. They hadn't seen anyone who desired death so much. He had asked for death. Did he know what he was asking? Some pitied him for losing his mind. Some acknowledged his boldness to ask for death out rightly. Some like Willington mocked him and called him foolish. "Do you know what you are asking?", Willington asked. Srinivasan replied back through chanting the verses from his poem.

"Life is irony,
 a joke filled with misery
where I can neither cry
nor can I smile.

Death is sweet,
an end to hopelessness
an end to painless emotions
an end to a lie
I had in my heart
for so long and forever"

He smiled while they looked at him confused. What were they supposed to do? If they gave him life, it was of no use. If they gave him death, he would be happy. Before they could act, he forced the guard to pull out the trigger of the rifle at his heart. It missed and instead hit his chest. He was swinging between life and death while he smiled at the people who caused this.
