Let go- Part 4

He didn’t react to her statement. He simply smiled at her, confusing her more. “ Really! I didn’t know you hated me so much. But I know the reason of your intense hatred towards me.” ,he said. She started jogging and didn’t reply as she knew she would be more puzzled.

He followed her like lost puppy. “ Hey, stop!!  Why do you do that?” he called out her name. He got hold of her hand  and pulled her towards him. “ Stop running away from me. I just want..” he said softly and stopped to kiss her. She closed her eyes and tried restraining him from doing that. She felt something soft touch her lips. As she opened her eyes, she saw that she was fighting with her pillow. It was just a dream.  She sighed with relief. “ Oh gosh! Now he is terrorizing me in my dreams. How much I hate him?”, she thought. She saw the clock and went back to sleep.

Morning came so soon. She woke up only after she heard Sarah call her name zillionth time. She saw the time and got up suddenly. She rushed to get ready soon. “ I am late! I am late!” she cried in panic. She skipped breakfast , annoying Sarah.  She sped her bike like manic, breaking all the traffic rules. She was already 10 minutes late for the presentation. She skid toward the lift in order to get in. Fortunately a good Samaritan helped her get in the lift. She wanted to thank him. As she turned towards him, she was disappointed it had been Aman. “ Thanks!”, she said softly. “ I should have not stop the lift. Sorry I made a mistake again.” he teased her. She felt the rage erupting from her head.  “ Moron!” she snapped.

The day started with disappointments for Jasmine. Her presentation had got cancelled when she reached. The biggest shock was when her boss had assigned her presentation to Aman and ordered her to assist him. Her whole hard work and stretching towards the end of the night was wasted.
However the day had passed out somehow. She updated some changes in presentation and given it to Aman to check on it. He wasn’t happy and asked her to do so more. This he did repeatedly until  she was in verge of breaking down. But she didn’t give up.

She sat till the time struck midnight. She didn’t bother to take any breaks… even the dinner. “ You don’t give up, is it? I see you have not taken dinner. Come , we will have dinner and then we will check that tomorrow.”, he said. “ But I don’t want to leave work half done.”, she argued. He didn’t listen and just dragged her up from the chair.

Let go- Part 3

He dropped her at her place even after her continuous refusal. She left without showing him any gratitude. Her aunt was waiting for her at the door. She saw the guy who dropped her niece safetly and smiled at him as a token of courtesy.

“So who is this new guy? Someone special ..at last you have a guy in your life!”, her aunt Sarah teased.  Jasmine was already pissed off with things in her life . This was too hot for her to handle… that too getting linked to the guy she hated in the whole world. “ He just works at my office and he wanted to drop me because I missed my cab. That it! Sarah aunty! I don’t have any hot spots for him.”, she argued.

“ Jazz! Stop calling me Sarah aunty! You don’t have to get angry for silly stuffs I blabber. You could have told that in a sober way.” Sarah said calmly. Sarah was fourteen years elder to Jasmin. But she was way younger than she was in the way she looked or acted. She was sole guardian to Jasmin and took care of her for past many years. Jasmin was just ten years old when her mother left her at the doorstep of Sarah. From that day onwards, she only had bitter feelings for her mother. This had made her into cold and bitter person.
Sarah had tried to change her niece nature. But her niece was just like her sister-arrogant and adamant. She bought her up in happy environment, taught her lessons of kindness and forgiveness. But she never could change her heart.

It was any other day for Jasmin. She got up early and got ready for morning jog. She drank her usual glass of hot water.  She opened the door to chilly morning wind. She zipped her jacket till her neck and covered her head with a hood. She started jogging with her ear plugged to earphones of her cell. The music bursted in her ears while she enjoyed the tranquility of the morning breeze. This was the time where she could be herself  or in other words she could meet her peaceful side.

“ Hi! Wait up! I am going to join you.” , the voice startled her. “ Not again!” she  said to herself. It was him- the devil Aman. This was the only place where she escaped from his annoying- ness. Now that was all gone. She tried to increase her speed. But he caught up with her.
She stopped suddenly. “ What!! Why are you following me? I am better off alone. You have already taken away so much from me. Now why do you want to take my only place of freedom?” she blurted out her irritation that was mounting in her for so long.

Let go-Part 2

She despised him more every day. As soon as he took over the role, she found him unfit. She felt he didn’t have leadership quality to lead people. He was way too ‘ happy go lucky’ guy. He didn’t take things seriously and always joked around.  He would spend most of time flirting with girls. She hated her female colleagues for falling for his useless sweet talks. She could never understand the reason why people loved him.  “What did they see in him? He was like cartoon character who was in wrong place. He would perfectly fit in the shoes of the clown in circus.”, she wondered while grinning at thought of it.

“You do have beautiful smile! Why don’t you smile often?” , he said casually. She suddenly stopped smiling after hearing his voice and got back to her work with her eyes deep into the monitor screen. She pretended as if she hadn’t hear him and ignored him. He shook his head in amazement.

Days had passed like falling cards. But nothing changed her views. Now work seemed to be burden to her. People who took her advices time to time had replaced her with Aman. They now felt comfortable to take inputs from Aman.

The only place that was heaven to her became hell for her. She tried to find excuses to skip work. Unfortunately she found none.

It was end of final quarter of the year. She was stretching herself till midnight to complete an urgent client request. As she checked her time, it was quarter to 1. She was late. She had missed her scheduled cab. To add to her bad luck, she had not bought her bike. She ran down to ground floor and swung door open to get hold of last cab. Alas! She had missed that one too. She was hopelessly scared with thought of staying at the office for the whole day.

She looked for one miracle cab to arrive. Nothing happened. The parking lot was almost empty. The only sound in the area was that of crickets and other creepy insects.

A bike stopped where she stood. The rider took out his helmet.  “God! Why him?”, she thought.  She never wanted this to happen. She did want miracle but god had different plans for her- he sent her nightmare in form of Aman.

“ Hi, Can I drop you somewhere?” he said. She didn’t reply and looked at the other side. “ See, you wont even get an auto at this hour. I can drop you.”, he continued. She realized that what he was telling was fact. At this hour, it was difficult to find a lift, leave the auto alone. After fighting her thoughts for long time, she agreed to hop in.

Let go-Part 1

It was already time for office. Jasmin grabbed her lunch box and bag. She ignored her breakfast plate and drank tea hurriedly. She wore her sandals quickly without buckling them properly. “Hey…where are you going, young lady?” her aunt Sarah said, intervening her. “ Aunt, I am late! I promise I will have breakfast at the office. For sure, I will have..Now please let me go!” she begged and sneaked out in the corner.

Her office was half an hour drive away from home. But sometimes the crazy traffic made the time fly easily. Fortunately, traffic was light. She drove as fast she could. She hated to get late even by a minute. She was strictly punctual.

She was in lift at last. Thankfully there was still two minutes left. She relaxed a bit. However this wasn’t long when a tall guy put his hand between the closing door of elevator. He waited until two of his females colleagues approached slowly into lift. Her precious two minutes was gone in thin air. Now she was officially late…late for the first time. She looked at the guy in disgust.

“ What a slow poke?” she said aloud without thinking about the people inside. “ Yes! Did you say something?” the tall guy said. “Nothing! You could have got the other lift if you wanted to wait for a long time.” , she snapped at him. As the door opened, she gave a light push on the guy and walked quickly towards her place.

She made herself ready to begin the work. Suddenly she was interrupted by her boss calling the team for meeting. “ Hey guys, I would like to introduce you to our new member. This is Aman. He is going to be the new team leader. Would you like to introduce yourself?”, her boss said.

She froze, seeing that it was the same guy she had messed up with in the lift. Now he was going to be the same person who was taking the place she had looked up to for some time now. He became the new villain in her life. Everyone else clapped and rejoiced the arrival of new team member except her.

Once upon a time...part 9

Would powerful and evil trample the meek and good? There was tension in the air. The only thing that was in both the parties mind was to win. Their means of achieving dreams were different. Maxim wanted his love and Arcus wanted power.

The war between love and power began. Who was going to win? Nobody had a clue. Queen Candice wanted her daughter to be safe amidst this mess.

There were spells used between the teacher and his disciple. Initially Maxim found it difficult to pull in his tricks. After few hit backs, he was back.

Arcus was surprised by his student’s talents. Maxim did have good hold on them. He knew which spell backfired his master’s.

He couldn’t bear it anymore. He was tired of fighting against Arcus. He was powerful and more knowledgeable than him. Would he be able to save Princess? It was an impossible task.

Queen Candice saw things were definitely not fine. She at once directed the army to help Maxim. But that didn’t help. Arcus had wiped them away like as if they were dust. She thought of last option-she had to bring back her past to save her daughter. Her ugly past she had hid beneath her for so long. She was sorceress before she had become a queen.

She used best of her power and spell to weaken her opponent. “You made me do this, brother”, she said monotonously.  Everyone looked at her side, trying to understand the words she said. “You took away my love , my son and everything that was dear to me. You were my blood brother. How could you do  this to me? (breathes deeply to clear the emotions) Now I won’t let you take away my daughter.”, she continued. “ I wanted both of us to rule the world. But you chose love over power. So I had to do it on my own.”, he said with wicked grin. In fit of rage, she glared at him. Her stare was enough for him to turn into ashes.

                                                 **********
Everything was back to normal. Princess Adele was at last allowed to go out. Queen Candice helped Maxim start his own institute for teaching sorcery. Maxim and Princess Adele officially started dating though Trigger did go walk with them.

Faraway land and palace was back to it’s happy times.

Once upon a time ...part 8

As per the plans, commander in chief was supposed to lead the army. But anxious Maxim raced in front of them, leading them to the way familiar to him.

Queen Candice had broken the ground rules for the queen of faraway land- she had joined the army against the wishes of royal pastors in search of her dearest.

“ Now ! Now! Don’t cry, sweet heart! There is no use of those tears. There is no one out there to hear you cry?”Arcus said when he saw Princess Adele cry.  “Get ready for the ultimate sacrifice!” he said with loud and scary laugh.

Arcus got ready with his plan. He drew a huge star where he placed each ingredient for sacrifice on each triangular corner of star. The room was candle lit. He bought her with her hands tied back and mouth taped by the cloth. He started murmuring the spells-praying every devil to accept him and grant him powers.

As Arcus was busy with the spell, the army surrounded his castle. Commander in chief and Maxim was hiding behind the pillars in the room. They waited patiently for the right moment.

Arcus took one of his sharpest swords while blabbering the spells.  He stabbed her instantly. But to his dismay, the blood didn’t come out of her body. She was still intact. There was no injury. He tried hard this time. But nothing happened. He used the sword to cut his wrist. “ Ahhh!” , he cried. The pain was unbearable. He realised what was going on. The spell! Someone used the alternate spell to diffuse his plan.

He turned back. It was Maxim. “ Oh my trick on me! You, clever lad!”, he said. “Yes, indeed! You must have forgotten that I am a quick learner. I observe and learn.”Maxim said.

“Ah! But you forgot that your teacher has been doing this for many years. You have half knowledge of all tricks. You cannot beat me. I am the greatest and powerful among all.” Arcus said with wicked grin.
“ Then I challenge you to defeat me. If I win, you leave princess alone.” Maxim said boldly. Arcus said,
“ Ha! If you lose, then you will never intervene my plans or think about saving Princess.”  Maxim agreed to the condition. But back of his mind, he knew that he had gotten himself into trouble. How was he going to defeat his own master? This question wandered in his mind , making him vulnerable and lost.
