Love and heartbreaks - Part 18

She had called him the hundredth time. She was feeling very low. It wasn’t about dance competition. She only wanted him to be next to her. She wanted to lean her head on his shoulder. She was cold… and wanted nothing more than warmth from him. She felt that she was losing her mind. She dialled his number. It rang for some minutes and later it was disconnected. He was doing this on purpose. What had happened to him? He would always pick her call during the initials days of their courtship. Now he hardly responds her call.

Her desperation had gone to next level. She wanted him more with the passing hour. She got up from her sofa and walked to kitchen where the last bottle of whiskey was lying on the counter. She had been drinking for past few hours. Her level of tolerance and control was nill. Too much of intoxication was causing her to think of things that she wouldn’t do when she was sober. At the next minute, she hailed an auto to his place.

He was having a stud party at his room. They were playing poker when the bell rang. The bell ring wasn't too loud due to stereo blaring at the highest volume. After the music ended, he rushed to open the door to see who was constantly ringing the bell. It was Molly. She was in very bad state. " How long do you take to open the damn door? ", she cussed and barged inside, literally pushing him aside. He was annoyed as well as surprised by her sudden presence. However he wasn't happy with her the way he used to be.

" This is ridiculous , Mo! How dare you walk like this into my house? You are not in right condition. You are embarrassing me in front of my friends.", he scolded her. " Embarrassing! Don't tell me that! How can you forget about you embarrassing me by coming behind me like puppy? I am in pain . Can't you see that? You only care about you and your friends! What about me? You said you will always be with me.", she cried, shaking him to and fro by pulling his collar. The fury was breaking out like lava erupting from dormant volcano mountain. While his friends became mere spectator to horrible fight taking place in front of them. No one dared to step in.

"Wow! How well you understand me? Do you know what mistake I regret of doing? It's meeting you. It's that damn promise I made to you. That day was my unfortunate day when I first met you.", he said rudely , breaking her heart into small pieces. She was numb for sometime. She imagined it to be nightmare which was in fact a shaken reality.  " Thank you for showing your real picture. You are all the same. I can't stand this any longer. I am leaving you. Bye!", she said, walked away from him. She didn't turn back even for a minute. He stood their with his hand on his head.

She walked straight without thinking where the unknown road took. Her face was red due to constant crying. Her breath was slow and heart beat faster. Her legs were weary and wobbly. Her heart was bleeding due to heartbreak. Negative thoughts circled her mind like vultures. A voice inside her taunted her for falling into love easily. "Will I ever fall in love again?", she wondered. Just then she felt a hand on her shoulder. Her soul relived again due to that touch. How can she forget that touch?

Love and heartbreaks- Part 17

Pathetic love! Who bought this love into world? It became annoying habit of Molly to be so dependent on Mohit. It used to be sweet but now it was becoming tiring. Who wanted to listen to other’s problems when they were burdened by their own? Mohit felt the same thing.. he was burdened by his own problems that he wasn’t in mood to listen to Molly’s.

Love is never picture perfect as described in the books or movies. Unfortunately we become fools of our own feelings based on our beliefs in these fake reality. Molly switched the channel to the boring TV talk show as soon as a romantic song was playing in her favorite channel. She didn't want to get affected by any songs or movies or books. It would replay the same events back to back. She didn't want to go back.

Why did people change? It was a question that circled around both Molly and Mohit. Both were unable to understand the reason behind such drastic changes in each other. Fighting, bickering and criticizing had replaced the lovey dovey activities they did together. They spoke ugly things to each other which they would regret later. They wouldn't even resolve issue and let new wounds build on the old ones. Their big egos was the main reason for all the anger they carried on each other.

“ I regret of coming back to him. I shouldn't have said yes.”, Molly said to her best friend Sheila. “ Why ? What happened now? Did he call you?”. Sheila asked. “ No!  He didn't call. What’s wrong with him. He wasn't like this before. He would call me every hour. He didn't even bother to give explanation of why he didn't pick my call yesterday. I have to follow him and call him. ”, Molly said softly. “ All guys are the same! They will first flirt with you and when they are done, they throw you like tissue papers. None of these guys take things seriously. You don’t worry. He is not worth crying for. Forget him!  Anyway, there is a sale in Mango. Let’s check out that place.”,  Sheila said, pouring more oil into fire. She was a typical friend who blamed all guys because of her so called bad experience with men in her life. While Molly blindly accepted her reason without even thinking on them.

Mohit had checked his phone. Her messages had taken half of his phones memories. “ Damn!! This girl is crazy. Why doesn't she leave me alone?”, he wondered. He started deleting her messages to free the space. He didn’t bother to read them. Though his heart directed him to call her , he didn't call her. “ Why should I ?”, he thought. She wouldn’t stop cribbing about how wrong he was. God! Why is that we get to know the real nature of people late? He thought of the day when he proposed her. He regretted of promising her that he will be there for her always. He shouldn't have promised. Hell! Why did girls take things seriously?

Molly swayed her body to the tunes of soft music playing from the stereo. However she wasn’t herself. She couldn't take him of her mind. She stood blank while the music played for the first time. It was a street dance competition. She had practiced all her moves so perfectly. But her mind and heart didn’t let her be in peace. She could have won the competition easily. Sadly, she lost the competition.

Love and Heartbreaks- Part 16

Everything seemed so perfect. They were like any other couples who were in love. They held hands wherever they walked. They would order his favorite drink - tender coconut  though she hated it, she wouldn't mind sharing the drink. He disliked chocolate fudge but he had got used to sweet chocolate flavor in his mouth.  Love was all about compromising and accepting each other’s tastes and desires. Sigh! But such love never exists for long time nowadays.

Even love was getting extinct just like the the precious sources of like - water. Love now came with an expiry date. After a year and half , their relationship seemed mundane. The honeymoon period was over. Sharing chocolate fudge and coconut water was getting boring. Holding hands every time seemed so childish and embarrassing. They were departing away.

“ Mohit, why didn't you reply back to my good morning message?  I was waiting the whole day for your reply.”, Molly asked desperately.  She had called her after her patience lost the war against desire to call him. Love made you feel desperate and weak. “ I was busy, Mo!”, he replied, while he was busy working on a script for tomorrow show. “ Busy!  You have changed a lot. Why? Am I boring to you now?”, she asked.

He felt irritation as well as frustration churning inside his mind and heart. He lost it and snapped at her, “ Yes! I am bored of you. Now can I go back to work? I don’t have to time for all your nonsense.” He cut the call and cursed loud, “ Girls!  You can never understand them !”. His colleagues who were busy with work stared at him.  She felt miserable and thus broke hysterically. She cried her heart out. Unfortunately it didn't help her to release her stress.

Cracks were slowly developing and no one was in fault for this happening. Contrary to old belief that love was enough to sustain a relationship, now we need something more to sustain it . And that was patience and trust. These two ingredients were enough to ward off the negativity in any relationship. Unfortunately, no one is so patient enough to believe or trust the other. Molly and Mohit were losing patience on each other and eventually were drifting away. The very same love that brought them together was drying.

Maybe expectations was the sole reason for the cracks in their relationship. Their expectation from each other was increasing. Molly was used to being pampered with gifts and flowers and Mohit was tired of listening to her tantrums. His constant spending time with her was reducing because of his work and her bragging. He was slowly feeling suffocated of a relationship that he desired long time. It was unbelievable that he was running away from the girl whom he was madly in love with.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 15

She took deep breath to stand on her toes. What was happening in her life? She expected this but she didn’t expect that she would run away. She was middle of two world- One where her heart belonged and other where she would be happy. She didn’t know what she to do. She was confused . She wanted to be with Randy. However past few days she was getting attached to Mohit. His carefree nature was healing her up.  She was becoming human again.

She stood blank for something. Then she turned and walked back to where she had left him. He was still there. Kneeling down with his face down. She sighed and confronted him, “ Mohit! I have no words to say.. ( tears rolling from her eyes, she took deep breaths) I love you too.”  He looked at her instantly with happiness gleaming from his eyes.

He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her on her forehead. Later he carried her in his arms and turned around in excitement. He wanted to keep this moment forever. “ I will never break your heart, I promise.”, he said. He didn’t realise that those words would be taken so seriously in coming months. It wasn’t that he did mean it. He loved her. However he wasn’t sure how much he adored her.

Their dance helped not only helped them win the competition, it also built a foundation for new relationship. First few months were sweet like nectar. He showered her with flowers and gifts. It was like a fairytale. Their love made people either believe in love or envy with green. They couldn’t keep their eyes from each other. Love was blossoming and everything seemed so sweet and beautiful.

Randy was soon becoming forgotten chapter in her life. There was no room for Randy. Only Mohit captured her mind, heart and soul. She started differentiating Randy with Mohit. Mohit always remembered special days of her life unlike Randy. He never criticized her like Randy. He always had sweet words for her. He made her feel secure. He was best guy any girl would want.

Love kept him above the earth. He never cared about anyone like this. He only wanted her to smile. To make her smile, he would go to any extent. He was always on his toes to do special things for her. Every day of 365 days in his life was dedicated to her. He wouldn’t miss a minute without her sight. He would either call her during the day when he was busy in the office. He would complete all his work soon to meet her. His night never ended until he received her one good night message. His friends felt distanced and left out due to him giving complete attention to him.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 14

He wanted to say those words to her. Bad luck!  His plans… all that hard work went into waste. He hadn’t noticed that his legs were aching due to constant practice. He kneeled down in despair. “ Wait a minute! What did she say? I was going to be her dance partner. Cool!”, he said aloud. He jumped with euphoria. All the prospect of getting her back brightened.

She ended the class soon. As she walked out, she saw him waiting for her. She placed her hand on her head due to anger. What does he want now?  She walked towards him. “ What is it?”, she asked sternly. He fell back for words. He didn’t know what to say though he wanted to know why she selected him when she knew that he was a beginner. “ Well….Well…”, he replied, searching words badly.

He looked at her. Her eyes stared back at him. “ How can those warm chocolate eyes seem so lost and cold?”, he wondered, admiring her eyes. She gave him a ‘ Are you done’ look. He nodded his head like as if he knew her expressions. “ I… I wanted.. to ,, know when is our practice or when is the competition?”, he stammered.  She thought for some time and told him the details of the competition as well as the practice timings.

He took six days off from office to focus on the show. Fortunately his manager was happy to give him a week off though he sulked inside for losing his precious employee ( Mohit) for six days. They practiced every day for ten hours from morning seven to four in the evening. The closeness was developing between them. But Molly didn’t quite open up though she would laugh at his silly jokes or pull his leg by calling him various funny names. He wouldn’t mind. At least he made her smile in the end of the day.

The D-Day was fast approaching in another 12 hours. He was developing weak knee for only reason that he wouldn’t get chance to be so close to her as he was for past 6 days. He had to tell her before he loses her. And he would tell her soon within these 12 hours. Love is simple but it becomes difficult to communicate it to one we love.

It was last day of practice. They had worked it out well. They had done the dress rehearsal. Everything was running smoothly. It was time to leave when he knelt down close to her. He took her hands in his and proposed her, “ I am not sure what you are going through. I don’t want to know if you are not willing to share. But I will promise that I will never break your heart or let your smile vanish from your face. Your happiness matters to me. If you are not ready to accept my love, I won’t hold any grudge against you. I will wait ..wait forever.”. Her face colour changed and her heart was beating faster. She ran away as fast as she could. She stopped only after her legs pained to stop.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 13

He had never focused his energy into anything in life. In other words he wasn’t serious about his life. Rjing happened instantly. He happened to audition for show that was hunting young and vibrant people like him for the role of RJ. Lady luck smiled at him and he landed the job before he could finish his college. He never had to work hard for anything. He got it instantly- girls, money and everything he desired.

Now he had to work hard for the girl he loves . This was the first time he found so difficult to impress. He had to literally run behind her to get her notice him. She was always in her own world. She had no time to look at him. He hoped she would look at him one day. Fortunately her birthday was coming. He had planned to make it big. He had practiced a routine with the help of Ali. He had bought a huge card and box of chocolates for her. He had learnt from Ali that chocolates was her weakness.

She was in mess. Everything had turned upside down. Life didn’t seem fine as it should be. Her love wasn’t there with her. Her passion was tearing her up. Her personal relationship was getting worse. Nothing was going on right path. A week was left and she had no partner for the dance competition. She had everything ready except for partner. She badly missed Randy’s presence. If he was there, then nothing would have gone wrong. She wanted to leave everything and go.

It was the usual Saturday afternoon. It could have been special one as it was her birthday. For the first time in twenty five years of her life, she didn't feel like to celebrate her birthday. How would she have good time when life was miserable and Randy was not around? Anyway, she was taking auditions of her students. They were good but didn’t fit in her expectation of the partner.

She was busy auditioning people. Suddenly Ali called her to talk to her on urgent issue. She sent her students for break and walked slowly to the room where Ali summoned her. The room was quite big and dark. She tried to switch on the light. But it didn't work. After few attempt, she left it as it was. She called Ali’s name. He didn’t reply and all of sudden a spotlight appeared on a person standing at the center. She walked closer to see better. When she could see who it was, she was surprised as well as annoyed to see Mohit. What was he doing here? He could have called her instead of using Ali as the bait. How could Ali accept to be used as a bait to call her? She was about to leave. Music started and she turned to see him dance.

It was song from Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl -Aadat Se Majboor. “ Ah! Typical chauvinist song!”, she thought. She wanted to leave but his moves were quite good that it made her stay a bit longer. His steps were mostly bollywood freestyle. There was a miss of one or two beats. But he danced well which was above  his standard. His extensions were not too large but it was according to the beats. He ended the dance with perfect poise. Before he could compose himself and say anything, she passed her judgement like any judge of a dance show, “ You were perfect! Your dancing was raw. But we can work on that. You are selected as my partner for my competition.”  He was awestruck by her response. His mouth was wide open.

Love and heartbreaks - Part 12

She began torturing him with tough steps she knew he would think twice to try them. She made him to jive to the tunes of  Miley Cyrus - Wrecked Ball.  It was a tough song for a beginner like him to start. But he didn’t complain as usual. He tried his very best to copy her extentions and moves. Unfortunately he would fail at every attempt.

He never liked dance. The only time he danced was when he was intoxicated by large pegs of beer. Later he would be thrown out of club because of his unpleasing dancing skill. He had tried many occasions to learn dance during his school days. Alas! He would check out of the class because he couldn’t follow any steps his teacher thought. Now he had no options but to follow the difficult path of dancing. He knew he was worse at it. But he never tried to give up. He only wanted to spend some time with her. She was too addictive. Her challenges of making his life miserable would add fire into his urge of meeting her every weekend.

He wouldn’t stop bothering her even during weekdays. He would start his day with ‘ good morning’ messages and end his day with ‘ good night’. He would also ask her about her day and well being. But she would always give monotonous replies to his messages. Sometimes he wouldn’t get any reply from her. There were times when she would be rude. He would call her for lunch treats and she would decline his offer without thinking.

Love was poisonous venom which induced him to not to give up. He would try hard to impress her with gifts and smooth talking. Nothing moved her heart. He tried to be himself- jovial and funny , just to make her smile. But she would smile for one minute and later she would be her cold self. Why was she like that? The time he ever laid his eyes on her, he only saw her lost in thoughts.

What were those thoughts? Was it love? Did she get her heart broken before and now she didn’t want to give another chance to love? What was the reason that made her so distanced to him and even people close to her. He wished he could do something to get closer to her and keep her happy. But how? He was dead scared to share his true feelings for her.

It was one of normal day. Ali had called him randomly. As he heard Ali self boasting himself ( half of which he pretended to hear), something in Ali’s conversation brightened his interests. The topic was Molly’s birthday which was approaching after two days. “ Perfect!”, he thought. It was best time to surprise her with his true feelings. But will she accept him was another question which he feared to even think about.
