Her parents were devastated by news of her marriage. They
never thought that their sweet little child would ever betray them. They asked her only one thing – Why did she
do this? She thought it was love but it was not true. She should have waited.
She was so young. What did she know about love? Nothing!!
As she reached her new abode, her new family rejected her at
the door step. They disapproved their marriage and blamed her for duping their
son. Amit supported for few months. Thereafter he got tired being caught
between his wife and mother. He gradually found his new love –alcohol. His
addiction made him irresponsible towards everything in life.
An year had passed. There was no improvement. Her ‘in laws’
still hated her. The love between Amit and her had decreased subsequently.
However her hopes were all up again with the birth of her daughter. She
believed that once grandchild came into this house , her family would accept
her. Unfortunately things didn’t change. They stayed exactly the same as they
were on her first day of her marriage.
As three years passed by, her hopes for better life had
almost died. Her life now revolved around Pia, her daughter. Amit was no longer
there in her life. He was her husband to the world. Amit she loved was different
from her husband. “Do marriages change the person so much that you cannot
recognise them at all? Was the sacrifices that I made was all waste?”she
wondered. She longed for someone to love her and care her. Amit was like a dead
man in her life. She understood that love between them was just an teenage
crush. She believed 'it' to be love that had turned into suffering.
One fine day , he came into her grey life and added some
colour. It was just a wrong number she dialled that bought much wanted support
into her life. He was like a pillar whose wisdom helped her in the toughest time. He
became her closest aide with whom she shared her darkest secrets. He was different
from Amit. He was mature , wiser and caring person she had ever met. His name
was Ram and his character was just like his name-calm and understanding.
