The Perfect Getaway - Part 8

She was sitting in the cafe and reading a book. It was blue sunny day.. perfect for swim.. perfect for a stroll... perfect for love.. perfect for many other nice things. But she was not at all interested in for swim or stroll or love. A book was only ideal option she had to spend her time. Unfortunately her mind was fixed in previous incidents.

She hadn't got over the last afternoon events when she saw him standing in front of her. Not again! Some people don't change. He smiled at her , hoping to change her mood. She smirked at him. He didn't care and took a seat.

She didn't get up and she was tired of running away. She sat at the same place. As she quietly spent her time, he started searching way to speak to her. He saw a waiter coming towards their table with the cup of hot coffee. An idea struck him. He tripped the waiter as soon as he was close to their table. The hot coffee fell on her soft hands and large drop fell on the book, staining the pages.

She was furious and turned towards the waiter. She stared at him with burning eyes. The waiter quickly got up and ran for his life. The time wasn't exactly right. But he didn't want to take any chances. He wanted her.
" Sorry!", he asked for forgiveness and knew he wouldn't get .

" For what?", she asked. " ( He laughs) You forgot!", he said in thick french accent. " What!! I haven't forgiven you for anything.", she said. " Why?  I am sorry for flirting with you. You are so pretty and no guy would ever not glance at you with love.", he said. What he said did seem right. She was not going to lose anything by forgiving someone. He hadn't committed any heinous crime. It was harmless flirting. She forgave him at last and made it clear they were just friends.

Everything was normal. He had to take things slowly. He was okay to being friends with her. But there was something in her that raised so many doubts in him. Why did she shy away whenever he spoke about love? Why was she not getting charmed by any of his tricks? She was different from all the other preys he had hunted.

(To be continued)
