Let go-part 6

She stood there clueless and panicked. There was not a single soul on the highway. She dialed her aunt’s number restlessly, but her aunt didn’t pick her call. “ Where the hell was she”, she wondered. Sarah always picked up her call when she never wanted to. But now when she needed her so badly, she wasn’t there. “ Screw you, Sarah” she cursed.

“ Ah! The devil was here.”, she said to herself.  She saw him riding towards her. As he stopped next to her, she shifted her gaze to other side, pretending as if she hadn’t seen him. “ Hey, you can use my offer to drop you anyway.”, he said huskily.

She fought her will and sat behind him. “God!! Why him?? Why my scooty had to give up on me?” she thought. This was the second time she had to accept his offer when she didn’t want .  But Aman felt victorious and enjoyed this moment as his wish was at last fulfilled.

He could feel her tension from her continuous figitating movements. “ If you stop jumping, I could drop you safely in one piece.” , he said calmly. They reached her home within few minutes. Her aunt was waiting at the doorstep looking bit annoyed. But her mood quickly changed after seeing Aman.

“ Thanks son, why don’t you come in for cup of coffee.” , Aunt Sarah said politely, still maintaining the family gratitude that was missing in her niece. Jasmine gave a fury glance on her aunt.  “First she doesn’t pick my call and now she’s inviting ‘him’. “, she thought. She put up a fake smile on her face and said, “Why not Aman? Won’t you still not come in if I invited you personally? Don’t fret; it is your home only. Am I right, Aunt?” Sarah could feel the heat of her fury attacking her. This happened whenever she called her Aunt instead of Sarah.

He smiled coyly and came in. “ Thanks aunty and Jasmine.”, he said. “ By the way, you can call me Sarah. Aunt is too old fashioned, you see.”, Sarah said.

After coffee formality and few introductory ice breakers, Aman and Sarah became best of the friends. They were talking about the mishap that had happened with Jasmin. “…Sarah, I had question for you. Is Sarah scared of sitting on bikes?”he asked. “ No, why so?” Sarah replied. “ Because she shaking while I am riding.”, he said. “Oh!!  She is never comfortable sitting behind anyone on the bike. She loves being in control.”, Sarah said with a laugh. Soon Aman continued laughing with her.

Jasmin was flushed with embarrassment. She was also annoyed at her aunt for supporting the views of her enemy on her being a control freak. “Am I control freak? Is  my need to have perfectly planned life wrong?” , she questioned herself.
