Swizz Cheese - Part 7

“Irene ! I’m sorry.  I respect you for the person you are. And you deserve the best. That’s why I feel so bad that I can’t give you my best.”
I did not say anything. I got up. I opened the door and left. He called my name but I did not look back.
He left in a week to Switzerland.
Our exam results came out after few months. I aced almost everything. As for marketing, I was the topper. I was happy.
After a week I got a letter. It was from Switzerland. An acceptance letter from the university in Switzerland.
I was puzzled as I had not sent the scores as planned.
Along with it, was another letter. It was from Daniel
It read:
Irene,
I’m sorry for what I have done. I wish I could take back what I said. I was in touch with Mrs. Gloria and she had mailed me your scores. I showed it to my father who is also the dean of this university. He was impressed and decided to take you in for the program.
I followed a set of rules and codes as part of the dignity of my profession. When I slept with you I felt like I let you down as a teacher. But I did not realize I was letting you down as a person with feelings.
I realize what a mistake I have made. Please forgive me. I love you.
Enclosed in this envelope is a ticket to Switzerland. Your program starts in two weeks. Everything has been arranged. I have spoken to your parents as well.  If you get onto that plane, I will take it as, you have given me chance to earn your forgiveness and love.
I closed the letter. I was in tears.
The day had come. I bid farewell to my folks and Nammi. I hopped onto the plane and left India.
The flight landed on time. I got my luggage got out of the airport. The scene was breathtaking . I took a deep breath of fresh air.
I looked around and I saw him in the crowd. He smiled. I walked up to him.
“Forgive me Irene, I love you” he said, with love in his eyes
I took a deep breath and said, “ Daniel, I loved you. I gave you my everything. But you threw that in my face  for respect of profession. How is loving me a disgrace to your profession ? It was love after all ,not some unforgivable sin. You made me feel like crap. You just left the day after we had sex and I had to literally chase you for an explanation. I just feel, like you said, I deserve more.”
I walked away slowly. He was in shock. I caught a taxi and got in, feeling liberated.
Things went well for me. I completed my program and got placed in a very good position in Nike. I fell in love again with a man who did not think twice about my worth.
I did see Daniel sometimes. We smiled and exchanged few words. I guess he moved on too. I don’t know.
But I will always remember him for three things
One: He will always be my first- the man to whom I lost my virginity, and the first man I fell in love with.
Two: I respect him for his dedication to his profession. He understood my strength and put me in a program that brought the best out of me. He really was a good teacher
Thirdly, and most important, he taught me, that I deserve the best, and I should never settle for anything less.

Swizz Cheese -Part 6

I leaned in  and kissed him on the cheek.  He was shocked and he closed the book, “What are you doing , Irene? ”, he asked totally confused. That just turned me on more. I leaned in and kissed his soft lips. He resisted. I hugged him and kissed him more fiercely. He parted his lips and I could feel his tongue explore my mouth. His hand moved to my hip. My fingers ran through his hair as we kissed harder . I started moaning and he stopped abruptly!
“No Irene, this is wrong”, he whispered
“What?! What is so wrong Daniel ?  I’m not a child, I know what I am doing”, I yelled
He stood up. He took me to his room and pushed me onto his bed.
He kissed my neck. I could feel his tongue draw sensuous patterns while his lips played along. His hand unbuttoned my shorts. I bit his lip and nibbled on it. Now his hand was exploring inside my T shirt. He squeezed my breast. It was pleasure I never knew existed. He paused, he got up and took off his clothes. There he was standing naked in front of me. The lights were dim and yet I could clearly see his godly sculpted body. My body would be so small under his, so petite, but I liked that, to feel protected under him.
He gently removed my shorts and Tee.
“Are you sure about this? “, He asked
I nodded. He looked at my body. I could feel the heat between us rising. He came closer and kissed my tummy, my hip, then he came up and kissed my breast as he unhooked my bra. He took me to the land of pleasures. He went down and gently removed my underwear and there on his bed, I lay naked. I could see the passion burning in his eyes  looking at my naked body.
He came close. He kissed my lips and slowly nibbling and kissing my body. He went down on me. I was in heaven, his tongue was exploring me  inside. I grabbed his hair, with pleasure I was moaning, as his tongue moved in patterns. My moan grew louder. He came up and kissed my lips gently. He looked into my eyes and slowly entered me. I moaned in pain. My fingers gripped his back, probably leaving nail marks. It took a few seconds for him to completely enter me. He moved back and forth. His movements became faster and I could not differentiate whether it was me or the bed was shaking so fiercely.
I wanted to be his forever….
I woke up, as the sunlight fell on my face. I sat up on the bed.  Last night was real, I thought, to myself. It was a beautiful reality.
I got up and put on my clothes. I went to the hall where I saw a note on the table.
It read: “Had to leave, study well for the test, good luck”
“That was weird”, I thought. It was Sunday. The test was tomorrow. I was disturbed  but I had to pull myself back together.
I went to the PG and studied as much as I could
Finally Monday morning arrived. Nammi and me sat outside the exam hall. We did some last minute studying.
The bell rang for the exam. I went inside and took my seat. I prayed for a few minutes and looked around for him. He was nowhere among the examiners.
I put my head down. A drop of tear rolled down my cheeks.  Just then someone slipped an answer booklet on my desk. I looked up. It was him.
“Best of luck! Do well !”, he said and moved away.
I was heartbroken. He did not even smile.
The test went well. He did not even speak a word to me the rest of the week.
All my exams were done. It was the last day of my course.
Why was he avoiding me?  I had to know! I barged into his cabin
“Why? Why won’t you talk to me ? I need to know” I yelled at him
“Irene! Please, what we did was wrong ?  That night was a mistake. It should not have happened. You are my student Irene” he said, sounding troubled.
“So what Daniel? I’m not going to be your student forever. Is that the best you could come up with?”
He came closer to me.
“You don’t understand. I respect this profession a lot and what I did with you was wrong. There is no justification”.
I held his hand,  “There is justification, I love you”.
“Irene”, he looked at me “Irene I just don’t feel love”.
I was shattered.

Swizz Cheese - Part 5

The sun had risen and I did not want to be late, it was Wednesday and that meant two hours of Economics.
I rushed to class and sat in the 2nd row. Nammi was surprised. She came up to the front and sat with me.
“Why are we sitting here”? She asked placing her books on the table.
“I don’t know. I just felt like it”. I said looking at the green board
“Okaaaaayyy!!”, She replied busy texting someone.
The bell rang and  he entered just in time.
“Good morning class”, he said with a beautiful smile. He looked so amazing
Two hours went by so soon, but the rest of the day went  really slow. The day ended. I went to his cabin to enquire about the program in Switzerland.
I knocked on his cabin door.
“Come in”, his voice echoed in my heart than in my ears. I went in.
“Hi, I wanted to talk about that marketing program”, I asked sitting on one of the chairs opposite him.
“Oh yes,  I am glad you came” he said, placing a file on the desk.
He went on about the program and it seemed very interesting. But what interested me more was the fact that I can be closer to him.
“So if you are able to keep up the grades, I’ll surely put in a good word with the dean”, he said, smiling with  high hopes.
I agreed and for two months I strived. I worked really hard.  During the course of those two months I grew closer to him.
There were just few days for the marketing exam. I was having a nervous breakdown. I definitely needed a break. I wore a pair of blue shorts and a white T. I grabbed my bag  and  headed to Daniel’s house. I reached at  8:00pm.I rang the doorbell. No one answered. I rang again and finally he opened.
“Hey, Irene, come in, what brings you here? “, he said sitting on the sofa.
I sat on the sofa opposite him, “I think too much studying has made me a nut case. I’m not able to understand this one theory  which is like the most important” I said
“ Come here, let me have a look”, he said
I sat next to him. He was going through the book silently. His concentration seemed so alluring, I felt butterflies tickling inside my tummy while I watched him.

Swizz Cheese - Part 4

He laughed, “Glad to know you got some sense of humor; you seemed to be the serious kind”.
“What!! No way ! I party hard and chill like all the time”, I blurted out which  was not true.
“You don’t have to party hard to have a good time.  Listen, I was just going through the grades of some of the students from previous semesters. You and Nina have really good grades in Economics and Marketing. I am also a Marketing major so if you need any help. Just let me know because I got this vibe you are not so into Economics.”, he said while checking if the rain is clearing.
“There is this really good marketing program in the university which I teach in Switzerland, and the placement is good as well. So if you can get some extra credits and keep up the score, I can help you get a scholarship there.
I was elated that he went through the trouble of finding my interest and giving me a shot.  But I was disappointed that he was also interested in Nina’s grades as well.
“Helooooo!! Anyone there“, he said smiling
I realized I had not replied to him, “Umm!! Yeah sure, that would be helpful. I will come to you after class to get know the details. Thanks anyway!”
“Awesome, I’m guessing this is your stop”, he said pulling over in front of my PG. I had not realized he had started his car and moved. I was too busy thinking the impossible.
“Yup thanks so much. Bye”, I said getting out of the car.
“Bye, take care of yourself”, he replied smiling.
Damn that Greek god face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I started walking away when I heard his sweet voice again, “Irene? “.  I turned back with all hopes of some awesome miracle  and walked towards him.
“You forgot your ID again. You should probably keep it in your bag”, he smiled and drove off
Why?  Why did I want him so bad?
I walked up  to my room, freshened up and called up my folks, who were working in the middle east. I missed them bad. The rain seemed to die down. I had my dinner and fell asleep, dreaming of the impossible.

Swizz Cheese -part 3

Nammi felt that I was acting weird.  “Why were you just staring at him like a zombie”, she asked, curiosity lingering in her face.  As we walked down the stairs,  I explained the morning episode to her. She laughed, “Are you serious? This is why you have been acting weird! This is so not you! Just forget it! “
And I did, we laughed & joked. We attended classes the rest of the day and our classes were finally done for the day. I hugged Nammi  and said bye. I packed my stuff, put in my earphones, switched on my IPod and  started my 2 km walk to my PG. Evenings are best for a walk.
It was quite windy and the clouds were grey, the leaves were dangling in the wind, and the traffic died down as I entered a quiet lane. The music was loud and the breeze was playing with my hair. I stopped abruptly when a car pulled over in front of me.  I took out my earphones, as I observed who was getting out of the car.
It was him, Daniel
“Hi Irene” ,he said
“How do you know my name”, I replied surprised
“Well you kinda forgot your college ID in class. Your name and photo is on the ID “, he said with his charming accent.
“Oh of course “, I went over to his side to take the ID.

“I kept calling your name but you had your earphones in, so couldn’t really get to you”, he said with a simple charming smile and dreamy eyes.
“I’m sorry for the trouble”, I replied a little loud, as the wind was getting loud and stronger and just then a drop of water fell from the heavens onto my cheek.
“I guess it’s going to rain soon. Would you like me to drop you to your place?” he said, sounding a bit serious.
I didn’t know what to say, the drops started falling more quickly and I didn’t want to get wet.
“Yes sure! Thanks, I really don’t want to get drenched”, I replied trying to sound very reasonable.
He smiled, “Well get in”.
He drove a silver Renault Fluence, dreamy guy with a dreamy car.
“So where do you live? “, he asked, the rain pattered on the car. It was pouring down real hard diminishing visibility.
I gave him a detailed direction as to where to stop
“Is it ok if we park on the side for a few minutes. I can’t really see anything “, he said trying real hard to see through the thick curtain of rain.
“Yes please. LOL! I wouldn’t want to get killed now, ha ha!! “, I said, which really sounded stupid in my head when I replayed it.

Swizz Cheese - part 2

My class was on the 2nd floor which meant a lot of manual use of leg power. Grrr!! I entered class. The teacher had not come yet, I sat in my usual spot, the 2nd last row on the left. I chatted away with Numretha and my other friends about last holiday and how awesome it was. Just then Mrs. Gloria, our Economics teacher ( who was short, plump and really had some attitude issues), came in and made her way to the front of the class. She laid down her register on the table, and went directly to the her favorite topic- economics time table for the semester. Holy schmuk!!Wednesdays had 3 hours of economics! Crap!!

Mrs. Gloria paused a little, took a deep breath (wow she breathes; I thought she was a zombie!) ,“I won’t be handling Economics this semester”. That was the most amazing thing I have ever heard. We were all “silently happy”.

“As you all know the last semester ,we have an exchange program and I will be going to Switzerland next week to teach Economics in the university there for this whole semester”, she said.
We were overjoyed. I was scribbling some diagrams on my notebook while she was making these beautiful announcements. She continued, “Replacing me, Mr. Daniel Wa`elchli will be taking over economics this semester”, pointing at the person standing back.

All of us turned back to see the stranger. My mouth parted and eyes widened. It was him, the guy I dashed into in the morning. When did he even come in ? He made his way towards the front of the class. I ducked my head and continued scribbling on my notebook. Mrs. Gloria walked out. I was totally embarrassed to raise my head. My friend Nammi (Numretha) shook me a bit, I looked at her. She gave me a confused stare at my abnormal behavior. Somehow I gathered myself and looked up.

He was not even looking at my direction. I composed myself and wondered why I was being so silly. His voices was so hypnotizing, not just to me but to everyone, as everyone were very attentively listening to him. His face was very charmingly animated. You could easily tell his passion for the subject which made us interested into most boring topic.

TRRRNNNGG!! The bell rang. It was like a rude awakening to our mesmerizing dream. We had half an hour tea break. All the girls were surrounding him like he was a celebrity. He had good looks, heavenly voice and a burning passion for his subject! Desirable!!

Swizz cheese - part 1

Swizz Cheese

The Alarm clock rang.. TRRRRRNNGGG... I tried to open my eyes. Well! I managed to open one of them.

It was 6AM. Damn! I missed getting up late. It was the first day of my last semester and that very thought cemented me to the bed. I lied down for a little while longer. I woke up listening to the bajan song played in the next room, the sunlight creeped in slowly onto my bed sheet. I looked at the clock. Damn it !I was late !! REALLY late!!

I jumped out of my bed, ran into the loo, freshened up, and then came the hard part- getting dressed. Arrrrrghhh! I had too many clothes. Finally I put on my black T and blue jeans, grabbed a notebook (which by the way has been my book throughout the whole of my B.com) and stood outside my hostel waiting for an Auto. My college was just a walk away distance . But I was really late.

I reached college just in time (I think that should be my tagline). I was really hungry. I texted my friend Numretha as she was going crazy wondering where I was. I quickly bought a muffin, gobbled it and was rushing out of the cafeteria. BHAAMMMM!! I dashed right into someone.
Once he re-established gravitational balance, he apologized though it was my fault. I was just awkwardly staring at him. He was tall, broad shoulders. He had dark brown spiked hair. He was wearing a crisp white shirt and brown pant. He had fair skin. Well ! He wasn’t Indian for sure.
I pulled myself back together. I smiled like I had muscle spasm. I apologized and rushed to my class. I turned around to get a  quick look. Sigh! He was gone.
