Letter to my beloved-part 4a

How was he going to execute his plan? He happily said that he would do it. But how was a big question. He had no idea where Ian was and what he was doing. With little help from Riva, he had trashed Ian and Saniya’s common friends. But they were of no help.

He was lazing on the sofa after Sunday brunch. There was only one week for Saniya’s birthday. He was hopelessly. He had tried all the sources in vain. He was tired now. He had to come up with backup plan. “What was he supposed to gift her on her birthday?” he thought.  He knew that she was never happy about whatever he bought her. He remembered the last birthday. She had thrown the diamond ring at his face and said, “ I am not your showpiece.”

He couldn’t forget that day. He didn’t want to spoil this birthday again. Suddenly his mind got distracted by the phone call. He picked it up hurriedly. “Hello, Is this Taran? I am Ronald, Ian’s friend. I heard you wanted to know about Ian.”, the man said from other end of the call. “Yes! What about Ian? Where is he?” Taran releculantly said.

“Cool down, there. Ian is here in India for a concert. I will mail you the address and his contact details. I wanted to tell you something. What you are doing, man , you need guts. All the best!”, Ronald said. At last, he found his path.

Everything was now in place. His next task was to meet his lawyer. He had to get the papers ready for the annulment of their relationship.

The ‘D’ day had arrived. She woke up to the bright sunny day. She saw a small envelope placed on the bed next to her feet. She took it and opened. It read, “Happy birthday Saniya. I have kept a red dress in your cupboard. Please wear it and come to the driveway. I will be there. Yours only, Taran.”

“Not again!” she said aloud. She didn’t want this again. She always hoped that he would forget her birthday. She hated when he did this. “Why doesn’t he understand that it’s no use keeping such huge expectation from her?”, she thought It would break his heart again.
